The week I've had today.
Went on a brief cabin excursion this weekend in Southern California. It was very chill and fun until we were about an hour away from home, between Baker, CA and the NV/CA border when the car I bought a month ago suddenly stopped accelerating more than 45 mph. It's an automatic but felt like when you have a manual in 2nd and try to go 60. So we pulled over, troubleshooted for a few minutes, and ultimately called a tow truck.
We rode in my car on top of the tow truck, which was like the world's weirdest and most boring roller coaster, but at least we didn’t have to wait for a Lyft or cram into the driver's cab.
Got home two hours later than anticipated, showered, ate some food, and then played DnD online until almost 9.
Then we took a walk. I basically sat all day and I was sick of it.
So we found a dog a few streets away.
She's an adult pink-nose pit pitbull with docked ears and has had probably several litters. She's incredibly sweet and comes when called but won't sit when I say it in English or Spanish. She didn't leave our side for about fifty yards, and then we were like OK this is our problem now. I jogged home and got a leash and car and went back, and she was still hanging out with Nate.
Back home she probably drank a gallon of water. It was 100 degrees when we found her, who knows how long she'd been out. So now we have a houseguest, at least until we can get to a vet to check for a chip.
