hannah spent all last season getting kicked in the nuts for dedicating herself to her teams. she was dedicated to the mice and everyone left (& by the end of the season woogie hated her for no reason), she was dedicated to the california girls and kab and wemmbu both left, so then she was dedicated to bacon and HE LEFT. and then when she dedicates herself to the chungpire she ends up as the scapegoat for every bad thing theyve ever done whether or not she was involved (and yes i am still mad that minute got the benefit of the doubt re: the flower field but thats not the point) AND EVEN SO at the end of season six its still her and bacon. minutes run off with clown and mapicc ditched them all for zam and its just hannah and the guy who already left her.
and then season seven is about to start and No One will team with her. It would be something of a faux pas to just run the chungpire back but its not just that its-- No One. will team with her. mid agrees to team but mid doesnt play. jojo agrees, a new player with no lifesteal experience, and woogie asks to team. and we all know hannah and woogie teaming doesnt work. this is the team she has, but it's not one she can dedicate herself to -- she spent the whole first week talking about how temporary it was, and she was talking about WH4M! becoming DI, but the fact remains that she also spent that whole first week on the anti-apoc team that none of them were on. she was closer to zam, jumper, and steveduo. i stand by that point. but hannah doesn't betray, and none of them agreed to team with her, so in absence of a team to dedicate herself to she is loyal to herself above all else.
she wanted to change her playstyle this season as in: she wanted to be more active. to act first, rather than reacting. she wanted to prove herself. she never wanted to stop being dedicated to her team above all else, but what team can she dedicate herself to? Jojo and Woogie built a base without her. so when Bacon asks: who's your team? it's jojo. and woogie, sometimes. and she tries to buy his friendship because at least this time she knows he'll leave her in advance. she warns that an alliance with mapicc will end with him betraying for zam because she's learned that. she accepts that minute can't promise to be friends because he'll always put his team first and clown above all else.
the thing about hannah is that she needs a project or she won't log on. she needs to trap, or a plan, or an orbital to hunt down. hannah barely plays these days, and partly that's because she's busy but also partly that's because hannah doesn't like being team leader. igl for events or for a specific project, sure, but she doesn't want to be the ideas guy. she wants to be reliable, but no one wants to rely on her.
she didn't have to close the end, but if she didnt do Anything then what's to stop her from being in the same position next season that shes in right now? and once she's done it she can't back down. she was able to hit 18 hearts and then be knocked down to 14 by one guy who couldnt beat her in a fight even with the mace, she learned the hard way last season that the only true security is money and power and hearts and hoarding. your teammates will leave you but if youre at 23 hearts you can ban them and revive them and then theyll HAVE to stay by your side.
she built the torment nexus because last season taught her that the torment nexus will be built whether you build it or someone else does, but if you build it yourself you can achieve near-immortality in the process and enough riches to buy all the friends you lost along the way. but the thing is that hannah has ALWAYS been all facade. every part of hannahxxrose, the character, and hannahxxrose, the streamer, is crafted and curated to be as palatable as she can be while still achieving her goals. and a pathetic woman isnt palatable. a pathetic woman isn't feminist. a pathetic woman with interiority doesn't sell, so she's not pathetic. shes a girlboss boss babe bad bitch who takes what she wants whether you want her to or not and, sure, she gets death threats, but why would she care? She's rich and you aren't and you just wish you (or your streamer) been the one to come up with this idea.
