I've got a store on ACGGOODS! I've got these sticker sheets as well as some other goodies and more in the future!
Check em out here!
I have to make mistakes in order to learn & grow
I cant stop thinking about "to be a trans woman in the larger queer community is to surround yourself with potential ticking time bombs." I've fully lost count of how many time bombs I've essentially begged to see me as fully human. How many I can never know if I fully diffused or if I just prolonged the inevitable. I've lost track of how many have exploded in my face. I try and review the list in my mind and it's like be burned all over again
Do I count the queer organizers and nonprofit board members that I've done a little dance in front of trying to convince them that I'm worth protecting only to be pushed aside ?
Do I count you all on here ? I want to hope for the best but I've seen over and over again how trans women at the follower count I have are treated. I do wonder how many of you, mutuals or not, will one day say "yeah I always got bad vibes from her" the next time I'm accused of being some variety of sexual deviant. I know the answer is more than 0, the only questions is how high that number gets.
Do I count the friend groups I've partied with wondering if my life is in danger, if they would protect me like they would a tme person ? Or the friends of friends or friends of partners who I was told started saying I was really loud or male-socialized as soon as I left the room ? Do I count the ones I never got confirmation said anything like that but who I have little doubts did ?
Even if I just count the close friends, the people I've loved most in my life who I've had slow, painful, unsatisfying conversations with explaining how I've been hurt and how they can or have hurt me the answer is still more than I could count on one hand. And even for them, as with everyone else, I can never be fully certain that what I fear won't happen anyway. I've let my guard down before and had it blow up in my face. I don't know how many more of those I could survive.
Actually I’m putting my own tags on the stack because this website is 76% white or some shit and y’all need to hear it
And it's also worth noting in all of this how often the rest of the community will just turn a blind eye to all of this, even when its happening right infront of them. Even when you're vocal about it, it's still too uncomfortable for them to acknowledge you and what's happening. Especially those last points. That hurts just as much
Why are you sleeping on bananas

If you have a fucked up sicknasty fanfic you've been thinking about sharing but are unsure, this post is your sign to run to AO3 and Just Do It: 1. Someone somewhere wants to read it. Even if it's only one person, that person matters
2. Your creativity matters and so does your ability to share it
3. Serial harassers in fandom spaces are beginning to express discomfort that sites like AO3 completely strip their ability to do anything about fic they don't like, sometimes going as far as leaving entire fandoms due to the influx of "problematic fiction without a chance for consequences to the author". Posting your fanworks to AO3 actively contributes to making harassers feel unsafe and powerless in fandom
4. Militant anti-fanfic content creators also cannot do anything about fic posted to AO3
5. You can post anonymously to AO3, with the ability to de-anonymize at any time
6. You can moderate comments before making them visible on your fic, restrict comments to logged-in users only, or turn off comments altogether, meaning you can post anonymously and completely turn off comments if you choose
SIMPLE GUIDE:
Body Horror: Things that cannot happen in real life. EX: The Thing, stomach mouths, eyes on hands, etc
Gore: Fresh injuries, often severe. EX: Severed leg, gutspill, deep gashes, etc
NEITHER: Healed injuries and burns, congenital differences, missing appendages, etc. If I could theoretically go to the store and see that character browsing the isles- It isn't body horror or gore. That's just a person. *AND the amount of people that tag, not just fictional characters, but real human beings as body horror is staggering. Its not solely a fandom issue, ableism and bigotry against anyone that looks sufficiently "different" is prevalent in real life and has devastating consequences.
(Modified) from my comment left on this post.
Adding:
Self harm scars are not body horror.
Pregnant people are not body horror.
Burn scars are not body horror, that includes chemical burn scars.
Prosthetics are not body horror.
NOT having prosthetics is also not body horror.
There is no disability aid that is body horror.
Congenital differences + disabilities are not body horror.
AND acquired differences + disabilities are also not body horror.
Real people are not body horror.
If you are uncomfortable or scared because someone looks different than you that is YOUR PROBLEM. It is your responsibility to get over it, or at the very least not make it everyone else's issue. Play the quiet game.
Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.
If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.
