A lot of D&D5e defenders on here like to claim that asking someone to learn a new system is "gatekeeping" somehow, but I'd argue that acting like one game is emblematic of the entire medium to the exclusion of people who don't click with that one game is way more meaningfully a form of gatekeeping, even if it's fully unintentional.

They’re saying “5e is not the only system and there are many other systems out there, don’t let 5e purists drive you off from TTRPGs entirely, try other systems and you’re bound to find one you like”.

Someone not liking 5e shouldn’t be gatekept out of TTRPGs entirely. 5e (or even D&D in totality) may be the most common but it isn’t the be-all-end-all of TTRPGs.

It’s fine if you prefer that system but don’t be a dick to people that don’t care for it.

instead of pointing fingers at citizens for not producing more children to fill the halls, we must point them at the systems of governance that fail to fund those halls of education properly, or provide conditions in which prospective parents can feel great optimism having children in the first place.

Here are some basic primers. If someone is wearing what look like Meta glasses, they usually have a small circular camera in the outer corners of the lenses, like the one on your phone.
