Greetings! I am your most loyal and devoted Knight, finally making an Elden ring specific tumblr, I'm not going to be dedicated to any one type of content just sharing my thoughts and arts with the masses. Sometimes I might do little imagines/headcanons of the characters but it's going to mainly focus on members of the Mohgwyn Dynasty (Mohg, Varré, Ansbach, Formless Mother specific) but if in the mood I might talk about the others. My art is traditional style, maybe I might upgrade to a tablet in the future.

I want to follow Elden ring specific blogs as well!

I always have a little harder time for modern aus just because of how much can change with just a few adjustments. I try to think of modern/real world Varré for a moment and my heart aches, He can't be exposed to things like rent and taxes and traffic!(Removing him from his blood cult is not providing him with the proper enrichment a healthy Varré needs lol)

BUT

Do not fear I have an answer still!

For Varré I think he is going to med school/shadowing nurse situation, it's not his full time at the moment so he has a part time in like a gardening department of a store. He's usually seen with a standard face mask no matter what, his coworkers either see him as the guy who avoids interactions with most or the one with the dryest tone imaginable. Customers usually praise him for being extremely helpful if not a little unnerving. He also feels like a smoker of cigarettes, who hides away and takes breaks often so he can avoid people making comments about his exposed face. He's a bit of a faceless worker really, His coworkers don't know anything about his personal life and his personal life things don't intersect with his work.

Ansbach has an office job unfortunately. Well at least for a while. A standard finance department job making sure the lights stay on and the water still ran. He's good with numbers to a crazy degree that he can do calculations in his head quite quickly. It was mind numbing at the very least, so after he retired most thought he would go on some age long vacation on some beach. Nope! He doesn't enjoy idle time that much, he's still relaxing and retired, but he does some hours at the library when the mood strikes him. He could choose to never work again but Ansbach will always take the opportunity to pick up new books and talk to others about his recommendations. You know his other coworkers absolutely adore him, and look forward to when he decides to clock in for another shift

My belief is Mohg does not lie. Small lies, white lies, at most he might avoid talking about something, maybe if he's feeling mischievous it's word play or double meaning.

So I feel like if the conversation ever gets brought up, Mohg would not hide his relations to Morgott. If I had to pick, Ansbach would be perhaps the one who questions Mohg of his origins and gets that answer. Mohg brings up they were twins, Ansbach of course finds an odd occurrence on how one child might have horns but the other might not even when in the same womb only for Mohg to make a sort of noncommittal "bah! He practically lives in that veil!"

To Ansbach, Morgott was sort of a symbol of an old figure head who is only keeping Marika guarded but making no changes to the system. He's one of her many children, claiming a shard and at least is grounded enough to keep a kingdom functional which is far better said than most other areas we find in the game. He has some respect for that, but no respect for one who seeks no desire to change things. Recontextualized after revealing that the veiled monarch is in fact an omen would make him wonder if it's less about no desire for change, and more so about the fear of what happens after you change things. Morgott is basically trying to keep things the same as how Queen Marika left it, so that one day she will return as if she never disappeared. To him it's a tragedy of Morgott's own making, one he pities as clearly Mohg defies the system and escaped the fate of following his brothers chained footsteps.

Imagine for a moment that after you complete your final trial he doesn't just disappear from the rose church and he mostly sticks there/lingers around over world lol

You both fall into a rhythm of visitation and lingering. You get used to his odd sardonic comments, his light hearted jabs and of course his too close for comfort proximity. To him once you stick around long enough, he makes himself a permanent fixture in your life. He makes things seem like your idea but it's all to make you stay a little longer by his side before you go off and fling yourself into another fight.

Varré cooks a meal with far too much for just himself but he supposes since you decided to join him, he could find it in his heart to share some with you. Your glove has a hole, you're so careless Tarnished! Honestly how do you take care of yourself without him around. He takes it upon himself to of course patch it up for you. As the night comes down you find him at your side pawing for warmth.

When you are gone for long periods of time, expect him to be a bit cross, acting distant and aloof until you apologize for not telling him you would be absent. You've learned how to read him better than anyone, so you know when he wants something from you and what he wants. He would want you to make it up to him by staying a little longer with him by the church, help him prune some of the roses from the nearby bushes.

To think about what an ending for him would entail is something I've thought of often. Unfortunately I doubt they would have a way to spare Mohg seeing as his and Radahn's death are required as access to the dlc. So it would be a Formless Mother ending so to speak, age of blood or even age of truth are titles that rattle in my head (I've seen a few use age of love which I find very cute) if the descriptions are anything to go off of, we can get an idea with the land of reeds being what the lands between would turn into, it's a land of blood-soaked madness. I feel like not as purely destructive as the frenzy flame, I highly doubt the Tarnished would be able to reign in the Formless Mother's desire for wounds.

So, the invader in the roundtable, Alberich, do you think he would fit in with the Mohgwyn Empire? I mean, he isnt a bloody finger but he uses bleed. Or do you think he's just doing his own thing?

Good question! If I remember correctly, he uses thorn based sorcery, his glintstones are red; made from blood sacrifices. This links him to the Blood Star which isn't exactly an "outer god" but I well believe is connected to if not directly related to the Formless Mother. Ones who plunges themselves into eternal darkness by gouging their eyes with thorns were able to see The Red Star. Blood sorcery also scales with faith rather than intelligence which also kinda has the Blood Star also still very much an entity rather than the more abstract concept.

Full head canon mode; I think the Blood Star is a fraction of the Formless Mother, you basically have to suffer in darkness to see her, and even then the only form you are able to make out is a "red star" almost like when you look through a pin hole to a bright light and it burns your retina but more gruesome.

While not "serving" or "joining" directly with the Dynasty, Alberich before going mad was described as Aloof and Disturbed. I feel given the chance to pursue the study of blood sorcery through the Formless Mother I think he would join, not in a faith based way but a more so academic research way. I don't believe he would worship it but there would still be high interest in what all can be gained from exploring this path

Ansbach is one we know for being attached to a book in his idle animation so it's safe to say he enjoys reading (I do wonder what the literacy amount is in Elden ring, if I linger on this question we will be here all day) but I believe he likes to paint in his down time as a break. There are many that showcase his love of the dynasty.

I can get behind that he told another Tarnished to kill a maiden to continue with their trial, but not only do they have to get to that very distant area off the map where you need a specific teleportation to go back to as there is no grace there. You also have to hope the scion doesn't jump you while over there. It's one of the open ended Elden ring things but it seems funny to imagine Varré going out of his way to pin point a maiden on an isolated island, kill her, get off the island and hope the sucker now without a maiden will wake up get pass or survive the scion, some how find a way to traverse down safely, swim to land get into the tomb, go through all that just so you can be the first one they meet when they wake up.

It would make sense to me if there was anything else that pointed to Varré besides him being the first guy you encountered.

Obviously I'm not saying he wouldn't do it. Given the chance to cut connection to the golden order would be his bread and butter, but the whole point of the trial is that you cut your connection to the two fingers and greater will by killing your own maiden. He only makes an exception for you because you happen to be maidenless at the time and prove that you are strong enough to take on a Demigod regardless of your set back, that makes you a useful and strong candidate as a knight for the Mohgwyn Dynasty.
