I don't typically record things like this, but here's what a (still quite distant, mind you) bombing with attack drones sounds like. Inside the house, with all the windows closed. I wasn't recording during the worst parts, and in the recording you also can't hear the drones humming as they approach - which, in my opinion, is a much worse sound/feeling than the actual impact.
People in other parts of Ukraine have it much worse than this. Every night.
You know, when I post about my experience going through this, I do it with one cynical thought - that for some of you, who have no friends or family in Ukraine, I might be that one Ukrainian person you sort of "know", and therefore, through me, you'd maybe care a little more about all of us. Maybe you'd donate to support Ukraine, or maybe you'd simply correct your MAGA coworker when they say that we're all Nazis and deserve it. Do you get what I mean? It's one thing to read the news about horrible things happening to people you've never known, but when it's about someone you've been following for years, even just a silly tumblr blog, it might feel more personal. So that's mostly what I'm trying to do with my constant whining and complaining here.
Just know that so many Ukrainians are going through much, much worse.
The blast wave isn't the worst of it, because at least it's clear. If you feel it, you know you're still alive, your house is still standing. When the drones hum in the distance, getting closer and closer, speeding up as they go down, and it feels like they're right above your roof and coming straight at you - that's honestly the worst.
Another thing is the flashes. When you see a particularly bright flash - that split second before you feel the blast, you wonder: will it shatter the windows? Will it be worse than the previous one? Less than a second between the light and the blast wave, but I hate that second so much.
i hate to come here and do this but i am currently waiting to be paid for my sick leave and atm i'm left with only enough money to get food and my rent is due in a week and i'm a pile of stress because i need to pay €240 that i don't have

First Poland, now Estonia, and all while Ukraine is getting bombarded in ever-increasing and widespread daily attacks
They, what we call in Ukraine, are "trying" you. They push your boundaries to see how you would react. If there is a response - they'll be afraid to do it again. If there is a weak reaction (concerns, judgment or any other verbal response) or no response whatsoever - they will do it again. And again. AND AGAIN. Until you finally learn.
If you still naively think that russians will stop in Ukraine, you are delusional and you are in denial that you are in danger.
THERE IS NO NEGOTIATION, WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR SAFETY!
When Ukrainians are telling you to pay attention to these situations, we are not fearmongering, we are trying to protect you! Today - they sent 2 jets to spy, tomorrow - they'll send 10 jets to bomb. And they will always claim that "they just got lost". Like they said about their soldiers in 2014 when they occupied Crimea.
Stay vigilant and don't trust any bullshit that comes from russians' mouths.
