Hello
Great having you here
Aww thank you! I'm having a hard time as of now trying to recall my dreams to post about. But finding quotes is no problem. Don't even know how many people are actually interested in this kind of stuff 😓😅

— Ernest Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises
You can't change everyone's minds, but you can change your own. With time...
“I will not think less of myself just because you do not know how to love me.”
— Unknown
Sometimes those we hold close don't know how to express their love for someone. That doesn't mean we should think we're unlovable but that we should continue our search for someone who loves us the way we intend to love them in return. Wholeheartedly and deliberately. You can love someone but it may not be what they're looking for... It doesn't mean that you love wrong, but just how you're looking for someone to complete you the way you want, they are too.
I had a conversation with a friend the other day about religion. We talked about reincarnation, karma, life, and what would happen if everyone did get what they wanted. We ended up at the conclusion that the world itself wouldn't exist as there will always be someone out there whose mind's curiosity and greed knows no bounds. There's always going to be someone who's unhappy with their position in life or the hand they were dealt, someone who regardless of how far they've come in life is never satisfied with what they have.
What if someone's wish was to have all the money in the world and another's for money to have never existed or to no longer exist? Would only one person get what they want? What if someone wished for the world to be engulfed in flames? To bring hell on earth? Would that render someone else's wish pointless? Or would all the wishes be granted at the same time? That's around 8 Billion wishes... Surely out of stupidity and hatred, many people would wish for their own success or another's death...
Sometimes being happy in your relationships can provide you the courage you need to overcome adversity. As much as I love the epicurean outlook on life, this is one I don't completely agree with. As we learn in our own daily lives, regardless of the amount of struggles and trauma— early on in life, having the support you need makes overcoming obstacles easier. Developing courage with those happy relationships. Of course adversity is the process of developing courage, it doesn't mean to handle it alone. It's not at all what I think Epicurus means in this quote, but I think it's unfinished. I think it should be "You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships everyday. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity. Alone or with others, strength can be found in those bonds."
With the quote completed, I don't think anybody should have to face adversity alone, whether that means calling a help line, distraction for a moment with a call from a friend, or simply spending time reflecting with yourself in a journal, there's always going to be someone who wants to help.

So cuuute!
From Epicurus’s Vatican Sayings
Listen, I know Freud did Oedipus dirty by naming all things Oedipal after him but not even 10% as dirty as the Catholic church did my best boy Epicurus by making sure his name is associated with luxury, consumption of delicacies, and snobbery when he actually preached the pursuit of pleasure via slow-paced, communal, anti-consumerist living and wrote reams about the corruptive influence of money.
People nowadays always have the wrong idea about Epicurean philosophy

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then from whence comes evil?"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodicy#Reasons_for_theodicy
Theodicies are developed to answer the question of why a good God permits the manifestation of evil, thus resolving the issue of the problem of evil.
In science, when an idea is falsified, it's either thrown out, or withdrawn and revised. In theology, you invent an entire bogus domain to pretend it's still true. Theodicy is that domain. The entire reason it exists at all is because the Problem of Evil shows the god claim doesn't work, but they won't admit it.
Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

Marble head of the philosopher Epicurus (341-270 BCE), known for his materialistic theory of the universe and his belief in pleasure as the goal (telos) of human life. Roman copy of the 2nd century CE, after a lost Greek original of the first half of the 3rd century BCE. Now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
