I've spent so much energy on writing nonstop since Golden Snidget ended in March, and making art for promotion and chapter headers, all the while dealing with irl problems...

So, to save myself from burning out, I'll be taking a teeny tiny short hiatus for a couple of weeks to recuperate! I want the second half of BFC to be ✨️perfect✨️ and fleshing out what I've written will take just as much energy as the first half, if not more (shit gets wild)

I'm gonna be honest here, I don't know what to tell you, anon. I've had your ask in my inbox for a few days now and I've been mulling over how to answer this because having watched their relationship, as public or private as it may be, develop over the last years, it is frankly impossible to summarize succinctly in any other way but: They love each other.

I could obsessively pull up receipts, of course, draw up a whole board with red strings, quote you all the things they've publically said they are to each other, draw you a timeline of significant moments and developments, or ramble on endlessly about pronouns as I am wont to do.

But ultimately? It's their relationship. And as fans, what you see is what you get. Yes, they are a koojin and that does come with the expectation of performance and fanservice. But also- Yes, they are partners and that is the one word they continue to use. And whatever that means to them? Not my business. I'm just on the outside looking in, after all. Do I think they're in love? Oh, absolutely! But they themselves have never publically used the word แฟน /faaen/ to describe their relationship or each other so I won't be the one to start doing so. And as long as they're happy, I am too.

I realize this might be frustrating to people who just want a direct answer. I'm gonna try to extricate myself as elegantly as possible from this ask now and let you hear from P'Zee's friends about how much New has changed him - because it always seems like people doubt P'Zee's intentions and feelings the most :<

ผม /pom/ - typically masculine, polite & respectful & formal; he uses it with the media, press, older people, and is the one he uses most when he's without P'Zee

หนู /nuu/ - typically feminine, cute, used by children and women when speaking to anyone older and is thus polite & respectful; he uses it in tandem with P'Zee's เฮีย /hia/ so he uses it in conversation with P'Zee but I remember an award appearance where he kinda forgot and called himself 'nuu' the entire time because of P'Zee's presence :D he didn't used to use it as much in the early days but these days people know ZNN as 'hia & nuu' already so they kinda expect to hear it lol

นุ /nu/ - not a pronoun per se, it's really the first syllable of นุนิว /Nunew/ but you could argue it's a short vowel version of หนู /nuu/; he uses it a lot when tweeting to fans

New/Nunew - his own name, cute yet polite; he uses it sometimes or in context when someone else calls him by name or when he talks about his career as NuNew

Okay, so I am now on my fourth time rewatching The Legend of Korra and every time I rewatch I realize something new! *THIS IS ALL JUST A THEORY MADE BY ME: A DESPERATE TOKKA SHIPPER*

(All my math will be at the end of the post; ages are taken from Avatar Wiki)

In, Legacy of the Fire Nation, we learn that after Lu Ten died, Iroh went to the Spirit World hoping that he would be able to find Lu Ten.

If my math is correct it can be assumed that Toph went into the Swamp as a result of Sokka’s death (possibly to try and ‘find Sokka’ since the Swamp is very spiritually connected)

We know that Sokka helped defeat the Red Lotus when they tried to kidnap Korra when she was 5, it’s not confirmed but this is when I believe that Sokka died. (At the age of ~75)

As I was watching “Operation Beifong” [Book 4, Ep 10] Lin said that she hadn’t seen Toph in 20 years, in Book 3 Lin says she hadn’t seen Su in 30 years. This means that Toph stuck around in Republic City for 10 years after the entire Suyin incident. (Toph left Republic City when she was ~67)

After this, I believe Toph went to Zaofu, where she made up with Suyin. 

In season 3 Eiway explains that Toph left Zaofu in ‘Search of Enlightenment’ but Toph used to visit. Also in “Operation Beifong” Toph mentions that she hasn’t seen Opal since ‘she was up to her waist’. Since Opal is about the same age as Korra we can assume Toph ‘left in search of enlightenment’ when they were about 5.

AKA Toph left for the Swamp WHEN SOKKA DIED!!!!!!

Here’s the math:

Lin in Book 3 is 51 years old; She hasn’t seen Suyin in 30 years so Lin was 21 when Suyin left Republic City, and 31 when Toph left Republic City.              Toph had Lin when she was 33+31(Lin’s age)+3(years between books 3 and 4) =Toph was 67 when she left Republic City.

Aang died when he was 66. When Korra is 5, this is 5 years after Aang’s death.  Sokka is 4 years older than Aang and if we assume that he died during the Red Lotus attack: 66+4+5= Sokka is ~75 years old when he dies

If Toph spent 4-5 years out of Republic City this would make her ~71/72 when she left to go into the Swamp. (when Toph is 71, Sokka is 75)

This means:

 Sokka’s Death=Toph’s departure into the Swamp
