Thus, Israel Hands’ Fencing Class for Dummies was born. It took place just before dinner every night, except on nights when the crew was far more focused on not dying from a stab wound in a raid or not dying from alcohol poisoning in a port.

Stede had left, the fucking bastard, and he had taken Ed’s rest with him. It was starting to take a toll on his mind, the constant wakefulness, the jittery energy that rippled through his muscles whenever he laid down, the itching under his skin that had him tapping his fingertips incessantly and pacing the captain’s quarters like a caged animal.

Psychology professors Dr. Bonnet and Dr. Teach have been academic rivals for years. Dr. Teach, nicknamed The Kraken for his habit of ripping other people's arguments to shreds in his published papers, has just transferred to the university where Dr. Bonnet teaches, and their heated rivalry has their respective grad students diving for cover. When they both get invited to the same convention, however, they might just realize that they have more in common than they ever thought possible

In truth, however, Louis is the bearer of bad news; some pirates have caught wind of the fact that Mary Bonnet is the ex-wife of the Gentleman Pirate and have decided to kidnap her for ransom. Suddenly, the Revenge is a rescue ship, hunting down Captain Vane, the biggest pain in the ass in the Caribbean, and possibly bonding as a family in the process.
