Sometimes I think of how we really missed out on Hannibal and Will fighting together properly outside of desperate survival against the human brick wall of death that was Dolarhyde while already wounded and exhaustedâŚ.. their intuitive fighting styles are actually incredibly similar, Hannibal is just more calculated and graceful with his moves because he canonically has experience with martial arts and hand-to-hand combat. The fact that Will beat a man sheltered in a metal and carbon fiber mechanical suit to death with his bare hands wasâŚ.. a wonderfully frightening display of him using his full strength. The face is the toughest place on the body to punch, because the skull hits you back.
[ They both have fairly blocky-looking builds with solid yet natural muscle density, prominent neck muscles and visibly strong biceps and calves. Will is 5â10 and 38 and Hannibal is 6â0 and 44 in S1 ]
They both lean heavily on moves that rely on agility and using the physics of anatomy to their advantage, and they both use a combination of stealth and surprise and dogged determination and strength. They have about a two inch height difference and their weights and amounts of muscle mass are likely very close based on what we see of their bare bodies and their effectiveness in attacking othersâŚâŚ and they both know each otherâs thought processes and personalities intimately. They have an almost preternatural mental bond because of this, Will knew where Hannibal would be and Hannibal knew he would know that.

Theyâre able to predict and play each other because of how deeply similar they are. It makes sense that between Will mirroring otherâs tone, emotion and posture in emotional moments with his empathy and Hannibal having amplified natural senses as well as an expert ability to read people and play off of that, theyâd fall into sync in a fight with lethal effectiveness. Theyâre two of a kind, a pack of two running down prey and outmaneuvering hunters, a pair of sharks working to corral the minnows. A well-oiled machine fueled and calibrated by their indelible and multi-leveled connection. Theyâre in their natural habitat with their natural counterpart in violence, terrifying as Achilles and Patroclus were on the fields of Troy, something more than human, more than singular. Murder husbands indeedâŚ.. and that strength and flexibility could definitely come in handy in the bedroom as well as the basement ;)
