Tell me you donât understand the Gods without telling me you donât understand the GodsÂ
Pagan tiktok: cancel culture applies to deities and the myths provide sufficient justification behind said cancellation
The issueâs universal, apparently. People donât realize that by treating certain deities like theyâre problematic youtubers, by listing their supposed misdeeds and trying to get them cancelled, for example, they act exactly like the 13 year old witches who tried to spirituality attack Hekate or whatever.
I heard about the 13 year olds trying to attack Hekate and that it didnât go so wellâŠÂ I think at this point, Iâm glad to not have a TikTok. I was considering getting mine going again due to several music artists I like having TikToks, but now Iâm wondering it itâll be more of a headache than itâs worth.Â
I suggest using Pinterest ahaha! Though I would warn you that several informative posts on that app have dubious sources and do in fact require a fact check. Still, if youâre looking for altar inspiration and anything of the sort, itâs the perfect spot.
I would just like to remind people that doubting your practice is not bad and anyone who tells you that it is is potentially dangerous.
If you are doubting your path, take a step back and take a good look at it. Is it healthy? Does it make you happy and fulfilled? Are you safe? Do you feel like it is the right path for you?
Discernment is a very important process, never feel guilt for second-guessing, there is almost always a reason when you start second-guessing.

Inspiration from the start of books where the author dedicates their work to someone(s). This would be your person dedicating these lyrics, cards and quotes to you at this time.
I hope this resonates. đ€

I just learned that the herb Persimmon is associated with transgender folks and I am so hyped.
"-it was supposedly believed that if a girl wishes to become a boy all she had to do was to eat nine unripe persimmons. She would surely change her sex within two weeks!" - Cunningham Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs

Focusing on Performance. Having our practice abide by an aesthetic can be empowering, but itâs not our goal. A lot of folks find that beauty becomes a mental obstacle later on. Not every magical thing will look and feel ultra mystical, and chasing the feeling/aesthetic distracts us from why weâre really here. Antidote: Take a moment to step back from the emotions and focus instead on the results. Start small. Whatâs something little you want to achieve? Find a way to do it with magic and then just do it.Â
Avoiding Struggle. Rome wasnât built in a day, and neither is your craft. Witchcraft is a lifelong study, that takes serious practice. All skills take time to develop. Nobody likes to struggle at something, but avoiding all struggle shrinks your potential and opens you up to be manipulated by sketchy âquick fixes.â Antidote: Treat learning magic like you would any skill. Heck, maybe even pick a new mundane skill to learn alongside your practice to keep things in perspective! Make peace with the idea of being a student.Â
Not Asking âWhy?â Roses are associated with love. Chamomile relaxes. Donât eat food you give to the Dead. But why? What is the underlying aspect of the Universe at play in these? If we just accept stuff at face value and never look into why, weâll only get surface level knowledge. Antidote: Find out why! Study science and folklore along with your magic. Look for patterns.
Cherrypicking Truth. If we only accept what supports our current worldview and write off everything else as fake news, then we miss critical opportunities to learn and grow. Antidote: Research critically, read from other perspectives, and listening to a diverse set of voices!Â
Self-Isolation. Humans are social creatures. Sometimes we get SO focused on the personal aspect of magic that we forget we have allies or people we can talk about all of this with. Antidote: Join online communities, seek out your local witchy gatherings, get in conversations with people about your craft!Â
Overexposure. On the other side of that coin, sometimes we can share so much about magic and the craft and our personal practice, that it scratches the itch of wanting to practice without us actually ever doing anything! We end up just talking/researching in lieu of practice. Antidote: Talk about a spell AFTER you preform it instead of before, or pick a few things that you just do for you and nobody else.Â

[Pick a Card] What harsh truths do you need to hear right now?
Your local forest hag is here to give y'all a pick a card reading. I felt like doing one that might weigh a bit heavier, but may also be needed for some. Today's question: What harsh truths do you need to hear right now?
From left to right: Honeycomb [Pile 1]; Mushroom [Pile 2]; Wasp Nest [Pile 3]
New skulls available, all featuring moonstone~
Dawn, raccoon skull(150), Calypso, mink skull(90), Asteria, raccoon skull(150)
I don't know who (if anyone) needs to hear this, but witchcraft isn't sacred to every practitioner. It's not always filling some spiritual void they had, or becoming a huge part of their life and identity. It's not a religious experience for a lot of witches. Not everyone takes it super seriously at all times.
It can be a hobby. It can be a casual thing. It can be something fun they do every now and then.
Just because it's a certain thing for you, don't expect everyone else to feel exactly the same way.
âPutting spiritual enlightenment beyond your grasp only perpetuates the false idea that you are separate from your divine nature and one day you might attain it (as a badge of honor, trophy or future goal). Do not put off for tomorrow what can be done in the now.  Surrendering to your true nature is enough, no time is required.â  Â

Clarifying some terms really quickly because some of them are not, in fact, interchangeable
ĂsatrĂș refers specifically to the worship of the Ăsir Gods, with it literally translating to âĂsir beliefâ.
VanatrĂș refers to the worship of the Vanir Gods as it translates to âVanir beliefâ.
Norse paganism does not always refer to polytheism, as some of the people who identify with the term donât practice deity worship. Norse paganism can be better described as a general spiritual mindset which often encompasses the worship of spirits of the land and ancestors, among others.
Heathenry is similar to the last term. It appears often in older historical sources such as the sagas. Of course, it was originally used in a somewhat derogatory way since it was mostly passed around by Christian monks/scholars. However, heathens today loosely use it to label themselves since the old Nordic and germanic religions didnât really have names. Atheists have also been using it from time to time, namely in podcasts or atheism-centered talks.
Odinism = white supremacy, moving on. Ok no seriously, Iâll just dive into that one real quick. It was supposedly first used in the 1820âČs and was later claimed by american folkish groups such as the OR (Odinic Rite). At its core, the term refers to the worship of Ăðinnâ but letâs be honest itâs a symbol of bigotry and archaic discriminatory social stances. Ok moving on.
Forn Siðr translates to the âold wayâ, as the term was used in contrast to Christianity (the ânew wayâ). It is now used mainly in Denmark, where it was claimed by a danish Nordic religion revivalist group. As such, it encompasses both ĂsatrĂș and VanatrĂș.

Closed Traditions Aren't a Monolith.
Not everything is restricted in the same way.
We're not all restricted for the same reason.
Some are closed to protect their traditions from being erased.
Some are closed because the traditions just don't make sense when taken out of context.
Some are closed because they require high-level understanding the average person just won't have.
Some are tied to a specific culture or ethnicity. Others aren't.
Sometimes you just need to be initiated properly.
Sometimes you need to be part of a specific group AND be initiated.
Sometimes there is NO way to join if you're not already in it.
Sometimes being "born into it" doesn't have an easy definition.
Sometimes you need to deassimilate first. Sometimes you can jump right in.
Our boundaries, traditions, and philosophies are ALL unique.
There is no way to learn the rules about all closed practices at once because we are NOT all the same.
