Morbius: *trying to sneak back into the lab building he got from Blood Hunt, goes through an upstairs window, turns around:

The Lizard: *hulking in the shadows, waiting for him like an angry mom* “you sssaid you’d only be in Monssstarrr Metroooopolis forrrr the weekend?”

Morbius: “I see you got your communicator fixed?”

The Lizard: “itsss been a monnnth, Michael.”

Morbius: *mumbles* «Τι είσαι, μαμά μου;»

The Lizard: «Σσστα Αγγλικαά;»

Morbius: *still straddling the window seal; brief surprise quickly turns to exasperation, * “Never mind , Curt…”

The Lizard: *flicks tongue out and back in, annoyed* “You owe me a monnnth of Sssciencesss, Michael… alsso, what is on your shirrrt?”

Morbius: *puzzled, feels shirt, runs fingers directly over something dried on * Eghh, Zombiote? Still?

The Lizard: *intrigued reptile sounds* “ Zzzommbiote?”

Morbius: *annoyed, until it dawns on him* “Yes, ‘zombiote’… wait… where have you been all month? How did you miss all that?”

Like, yeah no, that’s just my mute cousin from out of state, we nicknamed our Pokemon after him…

Oh, no, her? She’s just my long distance girlfriend from Sinoh, she doesn’t talk much because her Unovan is kind of poor and she’s embarrassed…

A tail? No, we just thought our daughter would like a Zorua themed swaddling blanket, we can already tell she’s going to be a great Dark type trainer…

Like, that is a device as ubiquitous as smartphones are for us and Every. Single. One of them has a whole Pokemon attached to it!

Did did they quarantine everybody’s phones? Did they say: one phone equals one passage aboard evacuation spaceship, please!

Or, even worse, did everyone forget that rotom was a living creature…. And that’s why it passed the PC box sniff test?

What does that say about wild rotom? What does that say about the rotom that are in those phones?

Ok, so a pre-hrt trans lady gets one of those “run over by truck, but gets their heart’s desire in a new world” deals. The new world is just like her favorite video game, which is a castlevaina esq rogue like, and she gets to be the beautiful heroine right from the start! She knows how the game works so she goes right off to the castle. Unfortunately the game is actually a lot harder in person. Every time she dies, she gets mocked by the bbeg vampire lord. She dies so often that she starts to notice that he’s actually quoting other bad guys from different real world media. eventually she fights her way all the way up to his lair to confront him … only to figure out he’s also a previously isekai-ed nerd, just like her! They hit it off once he figures out that she knows his secret. But unfortunately they find out pretty fast that they actually disagree on a lot of nerd stuff… so hilarity ensues.

That all happens in the first episode. But what’s even funnier, and wouldn’t be found out until later on in the season, is that he actually knew her in middle school, and even had a crush on her at the time ! But she doesn’t remember him, because he was just a little trans-masc egg and still presented as a girl when they were in school. Also she didn’t really know what to do with girls at the time, she was very convinced she might be gay (was also an egg at the time) so didn’t pursue any.

So do they still have chemistry? Can they get over their nerdy differences? Will someone please help the poor villagers understand what’s going on?

Call it: “oops, my villain is a fellow nerd?” Or something like that?

It’s a summoned champion type, where this kingdom that pretty much runs on Bardic magic has been try all day, unsuccessfully, to summon this candidate. Every time the mages think they have the summoning spell locked on target, they come up empty once they cast it.

Eventually, after like brute forcing it or something, they finally get a hit! They start pulling this amazingly elusive champion in…

Only to realize they’ve summoned a whole American High School Marching Band; one that’s mid performance too! So they get to witness the awe of a full marching band. Mostly because, when you’re in the zone on the band field, you wouldn’t even notice being isekai’d.

And this is madness because high school marching bands can have anywhere between 45 to, like, 200 band members at a time. And they’re so synchronized that the Mages probably think they’ve summoned a hive mind or something at first… but that’s quickly cleared up when the performance stops, and it really sinks in that the whole outfit is full of goofy-ass band geeks.

And when the mages try to pick and choose which one will be their champion, the Band director will not have it! She will not part with any of her kids, and they are indeed children, not even for a life endangering kingdom save quest! But the kingdom can’t send them all back… they need a Champion!!

So what’s the solution?: The whole Marching Band stays to take on the quest together!

But that’s not the twist

The twist is that having a whole Marching Band preform Bardic magic, in-sync, is way WAY over powered! And they sweep through every obstacle and bad guy in the way. Because this is just extra rehearsal time between competitions now 😂😂😂

Call it: “A Marching Band is a Bardic Bargain” or something?

The best part is, if you do it right, you can have little mini-arcs following each section of the band and they can be in any genre you like! For example:

The brass are in a slapstick comedy

The woodwinds are in a high fantasy coming of age story

The percussion are in a slice of life/hobbyist documentary

The drumline is in an uplifting sports drama

The colorguard are in a romantasy

Today my wife did it, and I couldn't be more stunned and happy:

This isn't a post from a big blog that a ton of people reblogged from that one big blog. This isn't even a post that got big because one big blog reblogged it. Yes, there were a few big-name boosts, but almost all of these reblogs are just, this post ambling through Tumblr making people happy.

My wife found this incredible rug to go into the living room, that matches the doors so so so well!

Any rigid solid object is extremely challenging for 2D artists to animate because if one stray line isn’t kept perfectly in check, the object will seem to wobble and shift unnaturally.

Even as early as the mid 80’s Disney was using a technique where they would animate a 3D object and then apply a 2D filter to it. This practice could be applied to any solid object a character interacts with: from lanterns a character is holding, to a book (like in Atlantis), or in the most extreme cases Cybernetic parts (like in Treasure Planet).

But 101 Dalmatians was made WAY before the advent of this technology. So how did they do the Cruella car chase sequence at the end of the film?

The answer is so simple I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me sooner:

They just BUILT the models and painted them white with black outlines 🤣

That was the trick. They’re not actually 2D animated, they’re stop motion. They were physical models painted white and filmed on a white background. The black outlines become the lineart lines and they just xeroxed the frame onto an animation cel and painted it like any other 2D animated frame.

That’s how they did it! Isn’t that amazing? It’s such a simple low tech solution but it looks so cool in the final product.
