TOMODACHI LIFE SWITCH IS OUT!!!!!

You know, following the Umamusume Discord and Subreddit is a real fun activity in these days. It should be a case study about how privileged the average gacha gamer is.

For employed amongst us : The good people of Umacord and the subreddit (a decent sized minority in both cases, but the loudest – of course) have been up and arms about „censorship” in the game’s Discord. Of course, me being a nosey bastard decided to follow along, what could have a part of the fanbase up in arms so suddenly?

So, the Discord server started filtering fan art. Specifically the type of stuff involving the girls and their trainers (mostly male ones, cause gacha game). Deleting message referring to the girls as their ’wives’. All the while the more softcore F4F/Yuri/girls love, what have you, have been generally left untouched.

Now this has the people in a tangle, accusing the moderator team of taking sides, being „tourists” (whatever that means nowadays), and some nerd dropped an hour long exposé video on the so called issue.

Now I could go on a whole preamble about „only in gacha games” or whatever, but this has me puzzled. Out of all the gacha games on the market, gacha games that explicitly pander to a straight male userbase, why did this one of all games?

Maybe because the average consumer of this type of media is so used to being pandered to they simply cannot fathom that a similar game might be trying someting else.

Maybe there really is a great yuri conspiracy amok, and CyGames is turning YOUR HORSES gay.

Maybe I should go back to work and not browse tumblr during open hours.
