Was It Just A Dream?

Uhh here's a snippet from the Woolton fete in my so far unpublished long fic to celebrate:

Whatever level it is of the McLennon iceberg, I eventually arrived at the one where you realize exactly how devastating John's death is on Paul. He not only lost a spouse and soulmate, Paul lost half of himself. The level where you realize how incomplete Paul is without John and that his quest to hang on to John is not only about making sure people don't forget about John, it's about Paul holding onto a part of himself. "I know I will never get over it and I hope I will never get over it." This the first time he, publicly anyway, performed this with John. This is the level. This is what that loss looks like. What the John-shaped hole next to him looks like. I've seen him do it live, but it was nothing like this, Paul basically tweaking, barely able to wait until John comes on screen. But both times, when John comes on screen, the whole place could collapse and so long as Paul could see John, he wouldn't even notice.

Q: There is a very beautiful song called "The End Of The End", the way you talk about your whole ending, and the lyric goes: "It's a start of a journey to a much better place." You mean, better than England?

Paul: Yeah, which is a little banger. So, uh, so, um, yeah, you know.... that's really what it is. Uh...I mean..

Q: Anything that you want to say about it?

Paul: And you know what, I'm trying to think what else can I say about it...

Q: It's a big banger.

Paul: It's a big banger. It's a big banger, yeah. Yeah, um, it bangs. Sooo... it's come inside and, uh, please do.
