I saw this quote today and just wanted to take a minute to ramble about it. When Star Wars Attack of the Clones was released, and Hayden Christensen took on the mantle of Anakin Skywalker, I was 6 years old. It is, in my recalled memory, the first Star Wars movie I'd ever seen, and I rewatched it so many times my mom threw the VHS away because she was sick of me watching it. I fell in love with Star Wars because of that movie and with Hayden as Anakin. But nobody got to see the little girl and her love for the prequel movies. They heard the voices of critics and those who grew up watching and loving the original trilogy. The people who would not be satisfied no matter the performance on the screen. The kids who grew up watching the prequels, we've grown up now and we have access to so many platforms to share our fandom. Our voices finally get to be heard, and we have embraced him the entire time. And I'm happy he finally gets to feel that appreciation.
