i've seen the occasional joke about bato and hakoda being suspicious of zuko dating sokka and supportive of aang dating katara, and though i understand why you might make that assumption i think it's worth noting that hakoda's first impression of zuko was "guy who helped break me out of prison" and bato's first impression of aang was "weird kid who insulted my cooking and stole my mail"

You know in the Blue Spirit episode when Zuko wakes up to hear Aang’s reminiscing over his Fire Nation friend Kuzon? and then Aang asked Zuko if he thinks they’d be friends if the war wasn’t around? That moment still hits.

Hey wait. Isnt aangs name when they go umdercover in the fire nation Kuzon? Did he name himself after his friend?? 😭

hc that riding a dragon is a completely different experience to riding a sky bison and everyone but zuko fucking hates it

it's especially jarring for Aang, thrillseeking, flying, laugh-at-gravitying animal lover that he is, that he cannot stand flying on dragonback, so he just refuses to admit it even though everyone immediately noticed except Zuko, who was too distracted by his excitement that Druk was finally big enough to ride

This shows attention to detail was unreal.

Even the fall backwards! That looks like the exact kind of thing a fun loving Airbender kid would do while showing off gliders and airbending proficiency.

the best benders in this show tend to be the ones who adapt elements of other bending techniques. Bumi has some airbender-y movements, Zuko and Iroh use some Air and Water movements, even Katara tends to use some earthbender looking moves when bending ice

Meanwhile Toph just took earthbending and cranked it all the way up to 11.
