"You wanna go to the arboretum with me?" Buck asks one morning as they're changing into their civvies after shift. "Sure." Eddie shrugs, because it's Buck asking. "What about Chris? You think he'll wanna go?" Buck finishes lacing his shoes. "Buck, he's fifteen. I'm sorry, but he definitely doesn't want to go." Eddie's all done, so he slings his duffel over his shoulder.

Or: Buck and Eddie go to the arboretum, then they figure themselves out.

So Buck can tell her he's come out as Bi and she can without a beat say "Oh, so you're dating Eddie now"

I just think more of Buck's exes should clock him.

Oh. Oh boy. Um. Well. Hm.

Eddie was definitely in season 4, when he saved that little boy right before getting shot. As someone whose job is to teach and protect kids, Eddie being a character whose job it isn’t but he does so anyways, has always been something very special to me.

Christopher I can tell you was his first scene. That boy is adorable. And now as a teen he’s a bit more sassy which is just as fun.

Hen would have to be in Hen Begins when she does her speech to her coworkers, about how she’s a black lesbian woman and that’s not going to change. That takes courage, bravery, and so much fucking strength. It’s something that I could never do. Her willingness to face that adversity from them head on by calling them out on it? Powerful. I love her for that forever.

Chim was definitely when he left his job he had for YEARS– at least a decade, I think?– to go and find the love of his life. He dismissed everything, and he was set in the fact that he would find her, and wouldn’t be back until he did. He was terrified of losing her. He sacrificed the life he’d built for himself because he knew that with Maddie, his life was better. He wanted to raise their baby girl together. And idk that whole episode was just…wow. Amazing.

Maddie, I mean. She’s Maddie. I could talk about how she literally fought to the death with her abusive ex husband. I could talk about how she protected her brother her entire life. I could talk about how she saved her husband despite the fact her throat was slit. She’s such a badass woman, there’s so much she’s done, and she’s such a good person I just. I can’t decide.

May was definitely his last season when she shattered that blood sample. Standing up for someone’s rights in such a bold way is so profound, and I love her for it. There’s of course other reasons I love her too– she’s amazing– but that moment? Perfection. It’s also consistent with her strive to fight against injustice if we look back to the police brutality her family faced and how she wasn’t willing to turn away from it.

Athena it’s hard to say, but. I do love her. I just don’t think I can pinpoint an exact moment. I will say I thought it was pretty sick when she pulled over the cop that pulled over Michael. Treating him the way he treated them? Golden. Deserved. Love her for that.

Harry I think I’m still waiting on his moment, but it will come.

Ravi I WISH WED SEEN IT ON SCREEN but hearing about the family that drove into the water…omg. How he felt guilty about it? My poor baby, he deserves the world.

That leaves Bobby and Buck. There are so many moments for the both of them that I could talk about. So many. But I think that, for me, the defining factor for both of them was actually Bobby’s death. Which sounds horrid, but…they were a father and son. For bobby to hide his sickness and decide he was going to give up his life to save a team member? For Buck to pound on that glass to try and get bobby out? It wasn’t just the end of Bobby’s life, but a culmination of the relationship he and Buck had built over the course of 7 years (bc s1 and s2 are in the same year). Buck fully believed in his coma he was the reason Bobby was alive– he directly says “I fixed you” and we see in his mind that if he hadn’t pulled him out of that plane, he wouldn’t have lived. And for bobby, Buck was the reason he kept going at first– he was Bobby’s reason. It’s like noah Kahan said “throw a punch, fall in love, give yourself a reason”. Bobby punched Jonah when he found out what he did, because how could he do that to Bobby’s team? His family? Bobby fell in love with Athena despite thinking at the time he wasn’t worthy or deserving, and still didn’t most of the time. Bobby gave himself a reason, and that reason was Buck. So for him to be able to give himself up despite all he worked hard to do? To admit to Buck before anyone else what happened? Yeah, I’ll never be over it.
