I seem to lose things easily

I hold on to them too tight

What do you expect

I’m so accustomed to losing

It slips so easily from my fingers

Like a fist full of sand

Nothing is solid

Knots and barbed wire

It feels awful

To grab on to nothing so tight

It’s hurts to have nothing left

But dust in your palms

And memories that feel like dreams.

I see a reflection of myself in water

Sensitive to touch

Never still.

Uneasy.

Rippling through time

Pouring from the heavens.

Quenching. Breaking.

Never enough for some

Taken for granted by others

Rising. Ebbing

Able to sever

Stubborn. Fighting.

I once had a encounter with a liar

Who knew that this brief encounter could scar me so
