Tell Me Why
From developer Don't Nod (of Life is Strange fame - which could also be on this list tbh) this game is about twins reconnecting at their childhood home after being seperated for ten years, one going to a juvenile detention center after killing their mother in self defense when coming out as Transgender went badly. (This isnt a spoiler, this is set up in the first 5 minutes of the game) Not everyone will like this one - in Don't Nod tradition the narrative is messy and complicated but very human. It should be available for free for Pride month
Night in the Woods
One of my favorite games of all time. Play as Mae, returning to her small town as a college drop out, trying to reconnect with her friends, when WEIRD stuff starts happening around town. (A kid is missing, guys in robes are showing up, is that a SEVERED arm behind the pizzera??? If youre worried about this being scary - it isn't, im the world's wimpiest gamer and all of this is presented in the friendliest art style so everything comes off as more absurd than scary)
