EternalsSource Meet the Cast: Gemma Chan (Sersi)
There are so many people who donât have a voice and if thereâs anything I can do to help those who have less power than myself then thatâs something I have to at least try, in some way, to do.

âdo you rodents think you can handle a semicircleâ is making me lose my damn mind
This mouse is absolutely gayÂ
fake crime podcast. itâs a podcast with ideas for crimes no one has tried yet
Controversial opinion but any appearance-based gotcha will always be pickme shit
calling a shitty, bigoted girl ugly bc of her physical features isnât subversive. this isnât about whether or not itâs justified, iâm not saying bigots themselves deserve better, but when you call a physical feature ugly you are calling everyone with that feature ugly. also itâs 2019 do we really need to get into why itâs not progressive to call women ugly when they suck for actual legitimate reasons
Pressing the crosswalk button when there are already people standing there is like publicly announcing that you donât trust any of them
As much as I donât like to say it, Iâve got to say one thing:
No one will love your projects as much as you do.
When you post about your projects about the internet, itâs important to remember that the love you feel for your projects will hopefully transfer to others, but itâs important not to be discouraged if feedback isnât what you want it to be.
At the end of the day, these are your characters, this is your setting, this is your story. You made them from your own brain, with your own imagination and creativity, and while thatâs incredible, but theyâll always be more special to you than other people.
So donât feel like if you put everything into your WIP and donât get much response, itâs your fault, or the story is bad. Itâs special to you, and that alone makes it worth writing.

iconic!
in order to lead a happy life im gonna have to disappoint my parents a bit
not to be dramatic but this post genuinely made me consider my priorities in life and the choices i need to make for my own wellbeing
that is the most horrifying piece of corn i have ever seen. i'm shook
honestly the mutants of maize (1968) as a whole is a book that haunts me. when you see it in person its this super thin book, pretty old (apparently theres an updated 1997 version???? might have to seek that out for nightmare corn purposes) but it justâŚ.gets me, man. like to be fair asynaptic gore corn is probably the most nightmare-inducing shit in there, but idk man itâs justâŚâŚominous. maybe its just bc ive grown up around corn so seeing it messed up is particularly disturbing, but like. heres some more stuff from the online edition, put in picture/accompanying caption format for quality (i cant find an open source link unfortunately, im accessing this from my uniâs database):Â
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 2)Â 56 skâ SILKLESSâ Pistils abort; no silks produced.
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 3)Â 31 Cg â CORN GRASSâ Narrow leaves, extreme tillering, poorly defined ears and tassel.
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 4)Â (60) Ia â LAZY â Prostrate growth habit begins after 12 to 18 inches of normal growth. In photo 19âlb force required to raise stalk from prone position. (SIDE NOTE: iâve seen this one in person before back when i worked at a corn research place. i know it sounds like an Actual Joke, but trust me. this is real and an accurate description of it)
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 6)Â (0) rgd â RAGGEDâ First leaves composed of narrow strips of disconnected tissue; seedling not able to emerge without help (E. G. Anderson).
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 6)Â 58 sm â SALMON SILKâ Silks are salmon color with prr; brown with p. (Courtesy M. M. Rhoades).
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 6) (59) Pt â POLYTYPICâ Proliferation of pistillate tissue to produce a mixture of amorphous and silky growth on ear.
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 7)Â (112) Pn â PAPYRESCENT GLUMESâ Long thin papery glumes on both tassel and ear. Kernels often covered.
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 9)Â 134 Bt1 â BLUE FLUORESCENTâ Plant tissues contain anthranilic acid derivatives, which fluoresce blue under UV light. May be detected by odor. Recessive in seedlings; dominant in anthers. Picture shows seedling leaves under ultraviolet light. Bt1 leaf on right.
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 10) l1 â LUTEUSâ Produces uniform yellow pigment in leaves of white seedlings resulting from a number of chlorophyll mutants or white tissue due to j1. ij, etc. Seedlings shown are W w w L1, and w w l1 l1.
^^ CAPTION: (Chromosome 1 only)Â D8â DOMINANT DWARFâSimilar to d1 (3â18); does not respond to gibberellins (E. G. Anderson).
so anyway this book contains many of my sleep paralysis demons. 10/10
happy halloween yall kno we lookin at an ear of corn from a plant with an asynaptic chromosome mutation

A brilliant 2008 campaign by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has been resurfacing thanks to a recent reddit post going viral. The campaign, called WWF Japan â Population by pixel, was created by the agency Hakuhodo C&D / Tokyo.
Oh noâŚ
Y'all this is BAD
Wow this is a really elegant way of describing why falling populations result in a narrow and incomplete picture of the actual species
I donât see any positivity posts like this so Iâm going to make one.
Shout out to the assimilated people out there. Who grew up without knowledge of and/or involvement in their ethnicity/race/culture.
Shout out to the assimilated people who get sad when they should be happy around holidays in their culture because they have no idea how to celebrate them and they wish they could. Shout out the assimilated people who do their best to celebrate anyways.
Shout out to the assimilated people who cannot speak their language. Shout out to the assimilated people who want to learn.
Shout out to the assimilated people who wish they could but canât reconnect with their culture in any major ways right now or ever due to whatever circumstances.
Shout out to the assimilated people who feel like they canât identify with their ethnic/racial/cultural group but donât feel they belong anywhere else. Shout out to the assimilated people who are constantly battling identity issues and feeling like thereâs no place for them. There is a place for you. You are not the first or only person in this situation. Itâs unfortunately very common.
Shout out to the assimilated people who only know the most basic things about their culture but not all of it.
Shout out to the assimilated people who battle intergenerational trauma.
Shout out to the assimilated people whoâs only connection to their culture growing up was discrimination, was knowing they were ashamed of it, afraid of it, and are unlearning that fear and shame.
Shout out to the assimilated people who donât look like their family, who donât look how someone of their ethnicity is ââââsupposedâââ to look.
Shout out to the assimilated people who are confused, resentful, and hurting. I see you and I understand your pain. One day, if you so choose to, I promise you you can find your way back into your culture. One day you wonât be as confused. One day youâll understand more and youâll find communities. One day youâll be able to speak some if not all of your language. One day youâll be able to celebrate your cultures holidays. One day, the pain will lessen.
You are not alone. I love you. I am one of you.
