here are some of the more angsty fics i can think of at the top of my head, most of them are by quintessence lol sorry about that. I'll send u some by other authors if i find any!

"all the pretty lights" by blueberryberet : Killua is the lead singer of a band who suddenly finds himself responsible for taking care of his sister. Bisky, his manager, hires Gon to help keep an eye on Alluka so that she can come along when the band goes on a tour.

The angst mostly comes in the form of Killua having some very unhealthy and self-destructive habits related to substance abuse and struggling to get better while getting used to taking care of his sister, travelling with Gon, and all the shitty stuff that comes along with fame. This one has a nice mix of angst and happier stuff.

"if not by faith, then by the sword" by quintessence: Killua and Gon get kidnapped, and Gon has to watch Killua handle the torture while trying to spare him. I really like this one! i just rlly like me some self-sacrificing Killua who's willing to subject himself to anything as long as it keeps his loved ones safe + an also self-sacrificing Gon who wants to take Killua's pain even though he wouldn't be able to handle it.

"twice as many stars as usual" by quintessence: AU where people feel their soulmate's pain, and Gon takes the hunter exam to protect his soulmate from whoever has been causing him such unbearable pain since they were born. so sappy ngl but they're both adorable

"universal bones" again... by quintessence lol: god of death Killua meets god of nature Gon, and realizes maybe life can be better for him, and maybe his own existence isn't inherently bad.

(of course, they both have to go through some angsty shit before that happens).

person : hey i used to be a bigot/abuser but i made active efforts to be a better person and i'm now not that person anymore

comments : ok do you want a pat on the back for the bare fucking minimum. fuck you. evil irredeemable person

like you realize that people can be raised into harmful ideologies and not question them until later in life and that it takes introspection and active efforts to understand your harmful actions and make change to your behavior right

even if its later in life.

it’s like a more delicate version of apple cider and i basically live off of this stuff when the weather starts to cool!

Apple Tea (for two)

1 large apple or 2 small, shredded (you can use a cheese grater)

3 cups water

1-2 cinnamon sticks

2-3 pc clove (optional)

honey to taste

1 tsp of lemon juice (add at end)

green tea (optional! the lebanese version usually calls for green tea but i actually prefer it without. up to you!)

throw it all in a pot and let it simmer on a low temperature for an hour or so. while it’s simmering, it will also make your home smell delicious! (if you make it with green tea, add the tea at the end, about five minutes before taking it off the heat so the flavor doesn’t become bitter from oversteeping). strain into your cups and enjoy hot.

This time, I’m taking a look at what I think is, hands-down, one of if not the most important scenes in HXH for understanding Killua and his feelings for Gon. In fact, I’m going to make the case that this scene proves that those feelings are romantic in nature. Unfortunately, the translation for this scene was absolutely butchered (it’s by far the worst translation in the series), so all of the meaning was lost, including the wonderful Killugon subtext.
