hi welcome to my hazbin rewrite archive blog. i dont actually care for the show (used to be super into it when i was 12-13 but not anymore), my friend has been relaying to me the information going on and i thought itd be fun to give it a spin on rewriting

Can I just say that the concept of the sinners being confined to Pride is incredibly stupid? What's the fucking point in the seven other rings then if sinners, no matter what their sin is, get sent to Pride? Shouldn't the prideful get sent to Pride, the lustful to Lust, the greedy to Greed, the envious to Envy, the wrathful to Wrath, the gluttonous to Gluttony and the apathetic, lazy, careless and neglectful to Sloth? What's the point in these other rings if all sinners are sent to Pride no matter their sins? Greedy? You go to Pride. Wrathful? You go to Pride. Lustful? You go to Pride. Gluttonous? You go to Pride. Envious? You go to Pride. Apathetic, lazy, careless and neglectful? You go to Pride.

I should get on my grind on writing this rewrite but also the idea of spending too much time on a hellaverse rewrite gives me a stomach ache...I could spend that time on ocs.....I could spend that time on media I enjoy......ah well it's just for fun this is all for me and my like 3 followers leaps in the air with joy!

Lute... well, ok, Lute might not be taken from Judaism, but her character could be replaced by a cardboard cutout, which is its own problem.
Now, do I think this was done deliberately? No. But I think it points to a larger cultural problem where the stuff Christians took from Jews is seen as material for satire, while the stuff they added on their own is almost never used in a similar way.
Reading that anon message about the whole redesign thing made me think about how the hazbin/helluva fandom are going to treat Hotlegs_101 after she is gone.
In case you don't know, she's been making Hazbin hotel redesigns (you can find it on her profiles) and as you guessed right, she did get hate for it by the fanbase on Twitter (or Bluesky, i don't remember)
And now that she passed away three months ago this year from brain cancer, i don't think i wanna imagine how this toxic side of this fandom are going to treat her, even after her death.
Aw. It sucks that Hotlegs not only passed away from brain cancer but also got hate for her redesigns. Her redesign of Charlie is absolutely adorable.

I don't think they really kiss traditionally since its kinda hard to do that when your girlfriend has a goat head. They try. But I think they thunk foreheads together to show affection more often. The Lucifer design in my Vox post is Not what he actually looks like ☝☝ he's sort of absent and unknown from Hell (at least, that sinners are aware of). Its supposed to be how Vox would view Lucifer with his religious upbringing and what not. Did I already say this on the Vox post. I don'tknow. lalalala

Charlieeee my second coloured. As with like any design I'm not 100% certain on if I'm gonna completely stick with it as is...but I like it......I like her being a goat sorry. I think its funny and also kind of fits with her whole. Sacrificial lamb I have going on for her.
Her mother sheltered her for basically her whole entire life to keep her from the True Horrors of the world, though she Still grew up in Hell and is used to the Typical Hell Experience.
I kind of like her being a little more morally dubious is my interpretation....she has good intentions at heart definitely but she inherited the traits from her parents of Doing Whatever It Takes To Achieve Your Goals. She lies a lot, but sees it as just little white lies that makes everyone feel better in the end- and that's all that matters right? Giving people false hope is OKAY if you just keep that false hope going forever, which is..Definitely possible...and she's not actually digging herself and everyone deeper.
I don't think Redemption is the ultimate goal here- well, it is for Her. Charlie fully believes in the whole Redeeming Sinners To Heaven and Everyone Is Happy Up There thing. She has a habit to ignore the VERY OBVIOUS NEGATIVES of anything because the pros MUST outweigh the cons...she's not Stupid, though. Wilfully ignorant is More Accurate. She chooses to overlook it for the greater good. Causes a lot of conflict between her and Venusta because Venusta ACTUALLY knows what Heaven is like. I think part of her idolization of Heaven comes from Lucifer weeping about how he was thrown down.
She will always stand up for herself and what she believes in. EXTREMELY stubborn, to a fault. Until it comes to her parents, then she folds like a wet paper towel. She wasn't made naturally, rather created by her parents as a means to managing Hell..until they became attached to her and her unique traits and decided she would be their daughter. They got better at making beings for Managing Hell after her, ensuring they're more just Soulless Husks meant for doing tasks. She tries to ignore the fact that she was a complete accident, on the list of MANY things she tries to ignore.
I think she starts out actually kind of Annoying, but gets better with time as reality hits her over and over and she is forced to reconcile with the Truth of the situation everyone, including herself, is in. I also think in the beginning Hell actually respects her and her position, only to quickly realize she's Not Lucifer and Nothing Like Him and they immediately lose all respect, and she has to fight to prove herself.
Lilith has also changed a Lot in my rewrite, tying her more to the concept she sort of Takes On in media as Ultimate Femininity. She's partially combined with the concept of "Venus", and yknow venus is also the morning star and what not. I don't know if she's fully an Antagonist really. She's. Complicated. Her role is very complicated. She's more of a Lingering Looming Shadow, like Lucifer. She's a victim, but also a perpetrator, siiiighh...continuing the Cycle....Charlie idolizes her, then Hates her, then idolizes her..and has to rework her view on her own parents. Guh I'm just kinda rambling here. One Billion Explosions for All. Now. I know when they actually add her to the show they're gonna kill ALLLL the hype and make her a one dimensional bitch like every other female character who does Any Bad Thing because women can't be Nuanced. SIGH.

first coloured one because I very vividly imagined her colour palette. i cant believe they named her vagina. what the fuck man.
I'm not sure just yet what I'm doing with Adam and the Exorcists I'll be so honest, but I do have ideas for her specifically.
I don't think anybody, except Charlie, knows about her fallen angel status. Well Lucifer also but he can't do anything about it in my rewrite since hes stuck underground. I'll get to that eventually.
Venusta is extremely collected, regal and well-mannered. She's still very sarcastic, distrusting and a bit of a pessimist, but she tries to keep it Real with everyone. She's honest to a fault, straight-to-the-point, and has a very hard time trying to lie. A lot of this stems from her time in Heaven. Angels can't lie, they have to be Perfect at every possible moment, especially one as public as an Exorcist. I think she has a lot of rage and desperation underneath the surface waiting to explode at just the right moment. Charlie unintentionally causes her to keep that repressed more, as she wants to be the best she can for her.
How they met is still a work in progress but the Adam is Abusive plotline is scrapped. I think she honestly just rebelled after finally 'waking up' and descended into hell of her own volition. She adds perspective to the story that maybe heaven isn't the place they dream it is, since she quite literally Fled it. Its a place idolized by everyone in Hell, because I mean, they're in Hell, but only she knows what its truly like. And its not what they imagine it is.
Her and Charlie's relationship, though already established, is deeply flawed at the start. They really love each other, but Venusta won't open up to Charlie, and Charlie relies on her far Too much. Both of them are still figuring out who they Are, with Venusta previously having no identity outside of being an Exorcist, and Charlie being so sheltered. I think they get better with time.
Despite her battle competence, I think she'd leave most of the fighting behind. She WILL if she has to, but only really will to defend others or in dire situations. She refuses to kill anymore almost entirely outright. She hates how others, including Charlie for some time, look to her as a strong foundation to lean upon or expect to handle the situation. She can't continue carrying everyone for much longer, but at the same time feels obligated to due to her past Murderous Actions from Heaven.
I'll getmore into angels eventually but yayayayayaaaa ! ! yay!
