22 years ago, we walked on to the GWB to watch the fireworks. It was windy as hell and a longer walk to the middle than we'd expected, but at 9 on the dot the sky lit up in technicolor explosions. Synchronized between boroughs and towns on the Jersey side of the Hudson. Maybe 6 or 7 fireworks shows going on at the same time with each fuse lit 1 second ahead of the last. We just stood there in the wind, in awe of the exquisite fiery ballet taking place in the sky before us. It was a magical 10 minutes high above the river Hudson. That big smile just below her sultry blue eyes, those eyes my soul could recognize in a pitch black room at last call. If i die tomorrow I'd come back, given the chance, just to fall in love with her again.
