saw a video about a singer who canceled the fireworks show at her concert because she noticed that a stray dog was quietly watching her performance and she didn’t want to scare him away and maybe maybe there’s still hope for humankind
❝ Brazilian singer Taty Girl left her fans speechless during a concert when she made an unexpected decision: she suspended the fireworks show she had planned to protect a homeless dog who was attending the show. While singing, Taty noticed the presence of a dog she named “Caramelo,” who was calmly watching from a distance. Without hesitation, she told her audience: “We will not launch any more fireworks, Caramelo does not like them. Out of respect for him, we will not use them. You can see that he is there quietly, enjoying the show.” Taty’s gesture was applauded by the audience, who not only admired her sensitivity, but also suggested that she adopt the dog. According to reports, the singer listened to the voices of her fans and decided to take Caramelo home, ensuring him a life full of love and care. ❞ Vía 🎥 tt/tatygirloficial

ok this is a poignant visual metaphor tho
this image made me quit my job.
I remember the first time I saw it, i stared at it for several minutes until I finally just started crying. It made me resolve to leave, and I turned in my resignation about a month later.
This is your reminder that if life keeps throwing you lemons you are not morally obligated to make lemonade from them. You can duck, or catch them in a trash can, or get a baseball bat and slam those fuckers into the stratosphere.

I hate this mentality so fucking much. No, the Australian desert is not mostly sand. No, you will not die if you visit. Yes, it is racist to think like this.
showing non-australians (and tbh a fair amount of racist australians too) this map and asking them to explain how come the “empty and uninhabitable” desert is home to dozens and dozens of Indigenous language groups 🤨
link to a better quality version of the map:
Respect the desert!!!!!
Thank you. I was about to say. Dessert isn't just a place nature doesn't happen. It's its own biome deserving of respect. As are the people who have lived there since at least the goddamn ice age
In the case of Australia in specific, the indigenous cultures were living there during the Ice Age—to the point that their orally transmitted histories describe the characteristics of lands that literally don't exist anymore and are now ocean. It's really cool
also i don't think y'all understand how many plants there are in the outback, grass, bushes, trees everywhere, it really really isnt just sand
y'all really need to do away with this caricature you have of deserts in your head
I want to be in 3 places at once. Help.

what happened (or didn’t happen) just doesn’t make sense. i cannot rationalise it. maybe it is best to cast this aside and move on with my life, propelled solely by the urge to see what happens next. the opposite of closure, is it open-endedness and ambiguity? those aren’t inherently bad things. we’re just culturally convinced we need certainty - at least when it comes to romantic interests. i don’t know what happened to me, you, us (if i may be so bold). scene.
first part is genuinely so hard
I’m really angry at J, and it keeps coming up like an irritant, even though I’m sure I’ve moved on and most of the time, I’ve also forgotten - if we didn’t share this much in life, I would have forgotten all of it
it scares me how little I’m able to empathise with him now because the more i do that, the more I hear a little voice going on and on about how it’s all quite unfair to me - what might be his version of reality - and how I can’t even entertain it
there are a few things I genuinely don’t understand and don’t try to - physics, self-seeking behaviour, falling out of love as quickly as falling into it…
