like not to get into music theory or discourse but i really believe their is a certain tragic undertone to hallelujah that christians in particular fail to capture. it’s such a heartbreakingly kitschy song, and the overture of lost faith- losing faith in love and losing faith in god- that is a uniquely jewish thing. at least, it is in the context of this song. it’s ironic. the “hallelujah” isnt sung in praise, it’s sung in irony; the same irony that has upbeat yiddish folk songs written in minor keys with depressing lyrics. it is a jewish irony and if i hear one more christian artist change the line to “i KNOW that there’s a god above” im gonna scream because it’s not only tone deaf to the meaning of the entire song but it’s tone deaf to the meaning of an entire religion

According to google, the ld50 in mice of a form of caffeine that is injected, caffeine citrate, is 49mg/kg. By weight, only half of this is pure caffeine. So 25mg/kg might be an ld50 for injected pure caffeine. Google says a typical cup of coffee contains about 95mg, but lets round that to 100. That would mean injecting about 15 cups could kill a 60kg person. Obviously im ignoring all the other weird chemicals in coffee. Info is harder to find on those.

my other question is: we know the lethal dose of caffeine, but what about the water in coffee? cause im pretty sure injecting straight water causes apoptosis of red blood cells, right?

so would you need to brew your coffee with an isotonic solution like saline or ringer’s lactate or something, or would the caffeine like, cancel out the water, like glucose does with water (ie. dextrose wont kill you, even though i’m pretty sure it’s made with sterile water and not normal saline)

and then there’s the question of infection, of course. it’s probably not possible to sterilize coffee beans 100%, right?
