Some Exocolonist sketches!! (Is that how people shorten the name of this game? Cause Iām absolutely loving I was a Teenage Exocolonist but dammit itās a mouthful of a title!)
Iāve done I think four or five playthroughs now? And still loving it, though I donāt know if Iāll be able to stomach purposely trying to get some of the bad endings, even though I know it gets you more lore.

Meet jubilant!(Julie for short). I've fallen down the exocolonist dog augment oc pipeline.

Since Cirri and Tina are now siblings, what is Cirri's relationship with Rhett/what does she think of him?
Ooof she is much more cordial with him as an adult than she was as a teenager, but this answer changes depending on if you get the peace ending or not!
General
They shared a father, Cirri was left with her mother and Tina only had her dad so she was very confused when they placed her sibling with Auntie Seedent rather than with her family. She tried her best to make sure Tina felt welcome with her and her mother whenever she wanted. Overtime Tina started training with Rhett, Cirri was very happy with him because he was a cool fighter and a softie underneath the bravado, he was able to help improve Tinaās mood and they could hang out like they did before the accident. Eventually Tina began to spend a majority of her time with Rhett and other members of the Garrison, so much so that Cirri felt that she wasnāt enough for her and that she had been abandoned. So as any angsty teenager would do she āabandonedā Tina right back, telling her that Rhett would never be her family and blamed their withering relationship all on him. She āmisplacedā his equipment all the time, ignored him when he tried to speak with her, and would just be plain rude to him.
Peace ending
As she grew older Cirri had a lot of time to mature and digest her actions towards him and her relationship to her sister, she came to accept that Rhett was not a replacement for Tinaās family but an addition to it and he was doing his best, putting in effort to raise someone he had never intended to be responsible for in this way. He cares for the colony and would never turn his back on someone in need, he just happened to be the trusted adult Tina needed in her life. Cirri is very awkward with apologetics but she does speak to Rhett about how unfairly she treated him, that she wants to have a better relationship moving forward, and she is sorry. They arenāt close but she respects the hell outta him and finds herself enjoying having family dinners with him and Tina from time to time before leaving to join the sea side colony.
War ending
Cirri is furious that Rhett listens to Lumās commands especially after he Breaks Utopiaās hand. They are from the same ship, they all lived together, how could he let this jerk lead their people! She starts arguments with him and questions his judgement within earshot of his troops (which gets her into multiple fights with the soldiers). From her perspective he allies with the Helio group and forces her sister to fight. She genuinely abandons Tina this time because she wonāt listen to reason (Cirri tries multiple times to get Tina to quit being a Soldier which then turns into a screaming match) and leaves with other colonists to try and make a life for themselves outside of the colony, ultimately leading to their deaths.
Another one??? So soon??? It's more likely than you think! I felt bad for not posting these as I finished them, so here's one more. Might post another tomorrow (or even later tonight?) if I'm feeling super wild lmao.
Anyway, this was tied for second in this poll, so I decided to go alphabetically lmao. This one is also heavy on the angst! Honestly, I think most of these are gonna be angsty, if not all of them... The ones I've written so far are, at least. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about my characterization of Cal, but, hey, this is where we ended up! Info below the pic, story below the cut!
Name: Reality is a Wild Ride
Pairing: Cal x Tammy, Sol x Post-Therapy!Vace
Warning: ANGST, ooc Cal probably, no happy ending, em-dashes (AI can pry them from my cold, dead hands)
Word Count:
Description: After a year of therapy, Sol and Vace have started going out, and Cal is not happy about it. But why? His life with Tammy and Echinacea is nothing short of perfect. It seems sometimes the only way to know who you love is to know who you hate, firstā¦
The first time Vace showed up at Cal and Tammyās doorstep, Solās hand clutched tightly in his, Cal nearly decked that asshole in the face.
Instead, he forced a smile as Tammy welcomed the two in for dinner. Echinacea babbled in her arms, and Cal watched from the door as Sol strode in, squeezing Vaceās hand with reassurance as the two audibly admired the decor of the quarters Cal and Tammy shared. Sol, his best friend, was somehow dating the absolute worst person on Vertumna.
When Sol had mentioned they were seeing someone, that had thrown Cal for enough of a loop. Sol? Dating someone? The idea had never dawned on him. Thatās why the revelation that it was VaceĀ they were seeing nearly threw him into a rage.
āHeās so violent, Sol!ā Cal had nearly shouted, alerting the farmers near them as they worked the fields of geoponics. āI thought you hated him as much as I do!ā
āI did! But-ā
āāButāĀ what? What is there to ābutā about?ā Cal felt confused more than anything. Hurt, too. Solās choice ... it felt like a betrayal. He didnāt want to think about it too hard, so he went back to work digging up weeds.
āHeās been going to therapy for nearly a year now, Cal. And heās really turned over a new leaf! He can actually be really sweet when he wants to.ā
Cal huffed. āIāll believe that when I see it.ā
Sol was quiet for a moment, and Cal knew from the wrinkle between their eyes that they were thinking hard about something. Finally, they spoke again.
āThen invite us over for dinner or something, I donāt know. Heād probably really appreciate it, too. Heās been talking about wanting to apologize to you.ā
Cal rolled his eyes. āVace doesnāt appreciate anything. You remember how he treated Nem?ā
Sol chewed the inside of their lip for a moment. Cal almost thought heād won. Then,
āHeās working on that,ā they started. Cal leaned back on his calves and folded his arms, not caring that his dirty gloves were mucking up his shirt. He had more important things to focus on.
āHow?ā His eyebrow raised as Sol swallowed.
āHeās apologized, and-ā
Cal couldnāt stop his bark of annoyed laughter as he leaned forward again to pluck another weed. āOh, yeah, thatāll fix everythingĀ he did.ā
āAnd,ā Sol continued as if he hadnāt cut them off. āSheās been coming with us to his therapy appointments. Theyāve been talking it out, and I think heās making really good progress.ā
That gave Cal pause, and he paused, the weed still in hand. He didnāt lift his head to look at Sol, but in his periphery, he could see they were tearing the weed in their hands to bits. They sounded genuine enough...
āFine,ā Cal said, leaning back once more and shaking his hair out of his face. āYou can bring him over. Once. But the minute he does something I donāt like - and I mean that - heās out, and I never want to hear about it again.ā
Sol extended a hand, then, and Cal had shaken it.
Stars, why did I agree to this?Ā Cal wondered, watching from across the table as Vace hit it off with Tammy while Sol helped feed Echinacea. It had to have been a fluke: Tammy could befriend anyone, because she was just that good a person. But Vace? Vace was still an asshole, therapy or not.
But that asshole didnāt slip up the entire night. Not once. And that almost pissed Cal off more than the thought that Sol liked this guy. Almost.
True to Solās word, Vace even apologized. For everything. In detail.Ā Cal didnāt know what else to do except nod and offer a tight-lipped smile. The sight of Solās frown at that nearly broke his heart, so heād accepted the apology quickly and carried on eating. By the time the two left, Vace had even made Echinacea laugh, and he and Sol had planned with her to come back the same time the following month.
Cal was quiet that night as he helped Tammy clean up after Sol and Vace left. Apparently, it was uncharacteristic of him, because Tammy called him out for it in her own sweet way as soon as Echinacea was asleep.
āHe doesnāt seem so bad,ā Tammy said when Cal didnāt reply. She always knew what he was thinking. It was almost annoying sometimes, how well she knew him. He could never hide anything from her, not without her knowing right away that he was. Sometimes Cal swore Tammy knew him better than he knew himself. He used to think of it as a blessing, but lately, he wasnāt so sure.
āI still donāt like him,ā Cal said finally, pushing the awful thought away and focusing back on what had gotten him upset in the first place.
āI know,ā Tammy replied, and Cal sighed as he sat on the couch. Tammy sat beside him and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. āNo one is asking you to.ā
āSol deserves better.ā
Tammy gave a small, sad smile as her hand traveled from Calās shoulder to his own hand, resting on his knee, and gave it a squeeze. āMaybe. But they seem to really like Vace. And he seems to like them, too.ā
Thatās the part I donāt like, Cal stopped himself from saying. It felt like too much. He didnāt know why.
But Tammy was right. The whole night, Vace only ever spoke with kindness, and only ever looked at Sol with admiration. It was weird to see that kind of expression on his face. The same one Cal used to give Tammy when they were young and smitten. It made him sick.
Why did it bother him so much that Vace seemed to genuinely like Sol? Itās not like he wasnāt allowedĀ to like them. But Cal always thought Sol had better taste than that. His mind wandered again to how heād never considered Sol in a relationship before. It had always been unfathomable, the idea that they would spend that kind of time and energy on anyone other than him.
Wait, what?Ā Calās shoulders tensed. Where had that thought come from? Never, neverĀ had he thought of Sol in that way before. They were his best friend. They were always right there for him. But they were never an option, not when Tammy was right there, so good, so perfect.
āYouāve got a lot on your mind,ā Tammy said, finally capturing Calās attention once more. āKudos for your thoughts?ā
Cal just gave her an apologetic smile and squeezed her hand. āI just need time to adjust, I guess,ā he settled on. He knew Tammy could tell that wasnāt all he was thinking about, but he thanked the stars when she didnāt push. That was Tammy, after all: never pushing his boundaries, never waiting to overstep. Sometimes he wished she would, just once, just to feel something different.
Stars,Ā Cal thought to himself as Tammy disappeared into their room, leaning back on the couch and pressing the heels of his palms into his eyes. What a horrible thing to think.
But it was the truth, wasnāt it? Heād been avoiding it for some time, too, out of fear of what might happen if he lingered on it for too long. Heād always seen Tammy as the best anyone could be, the perfect person on a pedestal of greatness. But maybe it was the bobberfruit wine, or the therapy talk at dinner, but Cal was starting to think maybe it wasnāt healthy to hold Tammy up to those impossible standards.
But sheād always metĀ them, right? Except for a spare few qualms that Cal pushed from his mind as soon as they appeared, he couldnāt think of anything Tammy had done wrong. Sheās perfect, he had to remind himself as he got up and prepared for bed.
Tammy is perfect, he thought again as he kissed her forehead before turning over to get some rest.
But can a person be too perfect?
-
The second time Vace showed up at Cal and Tammyās doorstep, his arm draped over Solās shoulder, Cal had to bite back a scathing backhanded comment. Instead, he put on an almost welcoming smile and stepped aside for the two to enter his quarters. Tammy was just placing the last of the food on the table, and Vace immediately started making conversation with her about her recipes as Sol cooed over Echinacea.
The two couplesā second dinner went much the same as the first, with Cal spending as much of the time as he could focused on eating, just so he didnāt have to talk to Vace. The soldier seemed much more at ease, though, to the point that he even helped Sol remove the dinner plates as Tammy brought out dessert. To Calās chagrin, Tammy even let him feed Echinacea a few bites of food, and he had the gall to seem nervous about it.
And the whole time, Sol was simply beaming.
Sol, who Cal had never thought would fall in love with anyone, least of all Vace. Sol, who Cal always imagined would stay attached at his hip, like when they were kids. Sol, who Cal was realizing heād spent his whole life taking for granted.
As he powered through his dessert, Cal tried desperately not to think of all the times heād pushed Sol away because Tammy was right there. They didnāt stop coming, though; the sheer number of incidents were overwhelming. Cal had to dismiss himself to the lavatory. Sol made a joke of some sort, but all Cal could focus on as he left the room was Vaceās laughter.
Cal stared at himself in the mirror, barely recognizing who he saw. For the first time in his life, he didnāt know what he wanted, nor what to do about it. Heād spent the past month avoiding the thought that maybe he wasnāt completely happy with his life. Heād been brushing it off as annoyance at Solās choice in partners, but that brought on a whole other can of sugarbugs.
Because after seeing how happy Vace made Sol, Cal was starting to think that his frustration was less that Sol is with Vace and more that Sol isnāt with him. And that was the most sickening thought yet. Bile rose in his throat as dinner threatened to make a reappearance, but when Cal flushed the toilet, he was grateful it was only to keep up appearances. Even so, he washed his hands before heading back out to the main room of his quarters.
His stomach dropped when he saw Sol and Vace nose-to-nose on the couch, beaming at each other, Tammyās singing drifting from the bedroom as she put Echinacea to bed. Vace caught sight of Cal first and backed up, apologized, and took Solās hand while Calās brain rebooted. He knew he had no right to feel jealous, which made him want to run back into the washroom. Instead, he forced himself to put one foot in front of the other until he was sitting down across from Sol and Vace.
Somehow, Cal made some small talk before Tammy joined and struck up a lively conversation, just like she always did. Cal quickly and gladly faded into the background, but he couldnāt help but notice that Sol smiled at everything Vace said, like any proud partner should. It made him wish Sol would smile at himĀ like that. And that thought made his stomach twist.
Later that night, after Sol and Vace had left for their respective quarters, Cal had more than ever on his mind. He knew Tammy could tell something was up, but she gave him space that time. Cal was simultaneously glad beyond belief and upset at the lack of a distraction. He said little as Tammy prattled on about how they should make their dinners a monthly thing, how sheād had such a great time, how the new couple both seemed happier.Ā Cal gave short replies, trying and failing to seem present, right up until Tammy fell asleep with a sweet kiss on his forehead.
Cal lay awake, the image of Sol and Vace on his couch burned into his mind. The awful feeling that he wished it had been himself there instead of Vace was adamant, forcing its way back each time Cal shoved it out. It was the last thing on his mind as he fell asleep.
-
The third time Vace showed up at Cal and Tammyās doorstep, Solās arm wrapped around his waist, Cal could have screamed. Instead, he offered a falsely warm smile and invited the couple in once more. As they entered, Sol presented Cal with a wrapped gift - an early birthday gift to him, from both of them. Tammy clapped with glee and rushed them to the couch for him to open it, and damn if it wasnāt perfect. It seemed simple: a gardening trowel, but he needed one, and this one was a replica of his favourite model. Engraved on the trowelās handle was Calās full name. He nearly gawked when Sol pointed out that part was Vaceās idea.
After Cal put the trowel with his other tools and joined the others for dinner, he brought himself to speak directly to Vace a few times, without proverbially biting the guyās head off. Sol noted they were pleased that heād started warming up to their partner, and Cal was about to agree when Vace spoke first.
āIt means a lot that youāve been so accepting,ā he started, then beamed at Sol. āThen again, you did say he would be eventually, Love.ā
Cal smiled at Vace, for the first time in his life considering starting a fight. But he knew heād only end up bloody and bruised and probably missing a tooth if he tried messing with Vaceās ālove.āĀ
āOf course,ā he managed.
Sol deserved better.
But am I really better?
The thought was horrifying, but Cal had to confront it sometime. And he already knew the answer.
He wasnāt. He was much, much worse, and he felt more remorse about that fact that he had about anything in his life. He was actively falling out of love with the woman heād always intended to marry, and he was actively falling inĀ love with his best friend, who was clearly infatuated with someone heād rather die than be friends with. Vace, of all people.
Vace, who seemed more relaxed than ever chatting with Tammy and making funny faces at Echinacea. Vace, who looked right at home with his arm around Solās shoulders, planting kisses in their hair after a few glasses of bobberfruit wine. Vace, who had no idea what an incredible person he was lucky enough to be in love with.
Cal just sat, forcing a smile as the banter flowed between the love of his life, the love of theirĀ life, and the woman he knew he was going to marry. Somehow heād found himself in a reality that made no sense anymore, and he was just along for the ride.
The more I play iwatec, the more I start to like Vace. At first I hated that bitch, but now I'm so intrigued by his character. He is just so interesting.
A Stratos girl who can tolerate even the most stubborn, horrid person.(she does not gaf)
Nim is a doctor in the colony with the augment Calm temperament. Shes also the elder sister of my other exo oc, Serendipity.
She wouldn't be romancable in game. Andin some timelines if/after Vace and Anemone break up she gets into an on and off relationship with him(or if he gets therapy will healthily marry him). She is one of the few people who can handle his unpredictable attitude.
this is one of those cases where i don't choose when the inspiration hits, at like midnight last night i wanted to draw Ozzy and Grim's moms i wasn't taking it too seriously but i liked it enough to share.
Current working names are Exemplar(Lara) and Rectify (Tiff)
Lara works in the garrison, started out working on the wall but got moved off that around the time Lum takes over, and Tiff works in engendering focusing in fertility and hormone related researches.

The blorboooooos interacting with characters in game. if Blue was a character you could interact with I think it would be really cool that if you boot up the game for the first time their moments are a bit different with Sol. They are much more open with Sol and comfortable (you can earn friendship points easier) but after living more than three lives, Blue will say that thereās something in Solās eyes that is not normal, that they know things people wonāt ever understand, and just be generally unnerved in their presence (Blue is no longer an option for childhood friends). Blue is a bit more spiritual not like religious but very in tune with the world like how some people can see auras or shadow figures which is why sheās such a scary cat all the time. That mixed with Sol who is stuck in a time loop doesnāt really help their relationship much, if they do become friends or partners Blue would definitely believe them about their time troubles like Dys does.
Rhett is a really cool character because his department was meant only for self defense and exercise, no one was meant to become a full on soldier for war and even though he acts tough because of his army background he can be really sweet. So Tina latches onto him immediately after her parents die sometime during the trip to Vertumna, while he is not responsible for child raising he doesnāt stop her from following him around (like a puppy lol). They grow pretty close and she calls him dad, heās long stopped trying to get her to quit that lol.
Cirri sees Utopia as a mentor figure, she is so chill and sure of herself how could cirri not want to emulate that. On top of that they are both wanderers, thereās no distance they wonāt go buuuut Cirri needs a level head which Utopia provides. She can be pretty impulsive and loves a good thrill (exhibit a. All the scars sheās accumulated over the years), so Utopia is a great leader in letting her see the world but forces her to practice safety measures and never makes her feel bad about it.
The Heliopause landing on vertumna was one of the worst things to happen to Flulu because of who came along with it. She admires their work ethic but Fortitude is on a whole different level. Ti loves looking into history but she has unorthodox methods of finding answers, Flulu does not tolerate being woken up at 2 am just because Ti found a discrepancy in the files. Itās not like she doesnāt interview the other colonists, she just happens to bug Flulu more and she will keep those secretes till she dies so help her! In these scene sheās making peace with possibly committing the first planetary crime of introducing this childās knees with her cane.
Hal and Congruence (my faves) are the teachers who changed lives, we all have at least one teacher like that. For Ro and Dezzy itās them! Ro is a monster for research projects and Hal is happy to assist in getting her started or providing any input she may not have thought of, itās through that dedication that Ro decides to become a teacher herself! She loves waking up in the morning and planning experiments or field trips for her students and seeing their strengths arise from the lessons. Dezzy never had any friends but the bots she would make from scrap metal on the Heliopause, because of that she feels a strong connection to them. so meeting such an advanced computer as Congruence made her ecstatic, learning that sheās funny, patient, and alive was incredible! She learned all the code she could and made more complex structures, it helped her create more intuitive prosthetics in the future when she herself lost a leg and two fingers.
