This event is kinktober—I plan on doing a flufftober event in the future, but right now I'm sticking to the kink side 🫦

For the last several years, the Darklina Discord Server (DDS) has observed Darklina Week in August, during the week between Ben and Jessie’s birthdays. But with the solar eclipse 🌒☀️ gracing many of our Western European friends (and a few other areas) on August 12, this year we’ve decided to do something a little different…

✨Darklina MONTH✨

This year, each week of August on the DDS will feature a new Darklina-themed activity and/or celebration. We hope to have a little bit of everything, so that everyone can find something to enjoy during this event!

As some of you may have noticed, it's a little late for our usual Tag Team Tournament hype--that's because we're doing things a little differently this year. But don't fear, you still have time to prepare!

The 2026 Tag Team Tournament will commence on Sunday, October 4th through Saturday, October 10th!

And since it will be taking place during the month of Halloween, we will of course be putting a very spooky twist on things! Your submissions do not have to be Halloween themed, but be prepared for everything we make to be at least a little spooky.

For our full rules and submission guidelines, check out our 2026 Event Guide Document. If you played last year, only three things have changed: 1) there is to be NO generative AI used in our tournament, as it is an unfair advantage, 2) There won't be any Playlist Points this year, and 3) We've renamed all of our teams.

What are this year's teams? Well, you'll just have to keep an eye on our blog this week, as we'll be revealing them one at a time as we count down to this year's Tag Team Tournament. That said, the ships will be:

ZUTARA WEEK - DAY 2: Warmth

For warmth, I necessarily didn't focus on the literal meaning of it, which is heat. I represented warmth through physical affection, which is important to both Zuko and Katara. Touch is a boundary they share until they slowly become vulnerable to one another. It starts off as something small, as we see in the Crystal Catacombs, and then develops into its conclusion: a mutual embrace born out of genuine understanding and forgiveness. I decided to represent this through the Italian Renaissance style of "Tondo". For context, the Tondo style is a circular painting/artwork. The word "tondo" means round, but in this art style, the term symbolizes unity and eternity. I found that PERFECT for Zuko and Katara's relationship: connection and eventful trust.
