Beautiful Macabre

Tucked away in Daryl’s bed, you felt like you were in a different world, and it was a feeling you relished. You turned over, blinking yourself awake to find his blue eyes already fixed on you. His heart jumped as you gave him a sleepy smile. “Hi,” you said softly. He reached for you under the covers and pulled you into his warmth. “Hey,” he drawled, pressing his lips into your hair. “How’d ya sleep?” “Good… except—I learned something about you last night,” you murmured.  “Hmm?” The was almost a nervousness in his hummed response. You went on. “You are the biggest blanket hog I’ve ever met in my entire life,” you accused him.  You felt the reverberation of his laugh deeply in his chest. “Well, s’my bed… so I figure I can hog the blankets as much as I want.” You pulled back and looked up at him. “Oh, really? And you don’t care if I just freeze to death?” “Naaaah, ya ain’t gonna freeze to death.” “How would you know? You had ALL the blankets, all night! I doubt you know how cold it gets in here! Maybe I’ll just kick you out so you experience it for yourself!” “Ya can’t kick me out! S’my bed!” “Wanna bet?” You started trying to roll him toward the edge but you could hardly move his strong frame and he only laughed further at you.

Grace was put into coma by the people who cared about him. They (especially Yáo being Yáo) probably double-triple-quadruple checked everything. They watched him sleep for those first few days — I doubt they went into coma immediately after leaving Earth's orbit. They probably talked to him, assuring him that he'll be okay.

Ilyukhina's coma procedure was probably supervised by Yáo. He made sure that everything was in order, but — he is just one man and he is not a doctor. There was much more room for mistakes.

When Yáo went to sleep, he was alone. He had to rely on the technology completely.
