Quick shout out to the Down syndrome kid from my after-school program back when I was in grade school. Like yea he had the usual issues but he was a sweetheart and quite funny; and one day both his parents showed up at the same time to pick him up and I had the experience of meeting a family of genetically disabled people that had jobs and a home and a kid in school and it was a profoundly normalizing experience for me like I couldn’t take eugenicists seriously after that because like “no they totally can have whole entire meaningful lives with marriage and children and work and hobbies have you not met Dennis??” Anyway quick shout out to Dennis you were a real one

Goodmorning to the Anthropic Claude AI training scraper that suddenly decided to request 660 thousand pages (exactly the number I had remaining on the starter plan) and brought Pikiwedia down.

Sudden switch from diverse user agents like chrome, safari, messenger preview to Just Claudebot. I'm not even mad though, this is maybe the funniest thing possible, because I've inadvertently poisoned their training data with thousands of fucked up articles with normal urls.

Pikiwedia perseveres, back up with a better robots.txt. I hope Anthropic has a gery vood time with Pikiwedia's data :))

Look, I get that print media is dead and local newspapers have to make a living but if I am trying to read THE ONLY article about a obscure event in a small-ish town and the newspaper website puts it behind a paywall, I’m praying all the journalists that work for you release your home address.

I read a lot of fanfics where the main character had a wound and they tore open their stitches or opened up their wound just by moving or twisting too hard, which is fair, it makes sense but I didn't realise how easy it is to do.

Recently I tried to do some woodcarving and was stupid enough to hold the knife wrong fully knowing I can injure myself. And boom I sliced the pad of my thumb. It's not a deep or serious cut but it's worse than a paper cut.

I tended to it and put plasters on it, there was no visible blood on the plaster. After a while I tried to use my thumb for something and applied some pressure. When I looked at it a red spot has formed. So ye, it's probably different with all those wounds superheroes get but thought it's an interesting observation.

InsNe that dishwashers are more efficient and easier than just washing them manually but they also use less water. It’s a win win situation

Made this post about 15 minutes after the repair guy who fixed the pump on my dishwasher packed up his tools and left, as the dishwasher was whirring along doing my dishes from that morning.

He said the exact same thing, which I did not know before that, so spreading this knowledge.
