As Druig was an odd eternal, he became the black sheep of the ‘family’, the outcast. And as the outcast, he was almost non-existent, only adding to a few conversations, and only ever speaking to you and Makarri.

Druig intimidated many people who he tried to help throughout time, because he was terrible with words and when he did speak he sounded annoyed, disappointed or angry.

So yeah, druig wasn’t good with words.

But you found out he was better portraying his emotions in a different way, physical affection: head butting, shoulder nudges, things you’ve grown to love.

You remember the day you realised he shows his love with physical affection.

“Y/n!” His voice echos, but all you can think about is the hole in your stomach.

You stagger, gripping your stomach. This was the first time a deviant has harmed you this sever and you feel…fearful.

The thought of not knowing what’s gonna happen, the thought that you’re not going to be able to protect the earth from deviants, not being able to confess to Druig of the connection you feel, the connection you want to explore.

Panting, you watch as ikaris kills the deviant that harmed you, leaving nothing but it’s insides to leave evidence of it’s existence.

Without a second thought, Druig, who has watched it all happen, ran to you. All his anger, sadness, emptiness went away, all he he could think about was that you, his closest whatever you were, was in pain.

Getting there right on time, he catches you in his arms. He doesn’t say anything, not a single word of  encouragement, he just stares at your wide eyes, your mouth stuttering on words that didn’t come out. All he can’t think about is how he lost you, someone he knows he can’t live without.

He places his hand on your stomach, feeling sick to his stomach.

He can’t process why he saw, he can’t emotionally cope, the fact that you could still be dying-he didn’t know, he was in shock.

He almost choked when he realised how much blood was leaving your body, leaving a reminder in the palm of his hands, literally. He keeps his hand on the wound, not letting it bleed out more.

He leans his head to yours, the only thing that will call his wild mind, silence all the negative thoughts.

You always smile when remembering that, you don’t know whether is was from remembering the feeling of blood loss which made everything fuzzy, or the fact that was the first time Druig showed anything other than platonic feelings towards you.

Now he acts like a cat in heat, butting his head against yours, or nudging shoulders, or even playing with your hair.

Staring at the soapy water before you, you can’t help but grin; all the memories of Druig flash in your head, all the times he’s shown his love for you in his own way.

You didn’t notice him sneaking up behind you. You only realised he was when he wrapped his hands around your waist.

You feel butterfly’s in your stomach, even after all these years, you still can’t help but feel it when he shows you affection.

He slowly moves his hands to you stomach, pulling you a bit towards him.

“My beautiful, beautiful y/n”
