just wanted to have another place to put all my things, I’ve been lurking for so long. This blog will mostly run on a queue.
It’s a sideblog, bc my personal tumblr has some very different vibes and I do wanna keep it all in different rooms.
I’ll post original writing/fanfic, as well as links to my hrpf on ao3 (where you can find me under the same username), and also inspiration and some research links. I do occasionally reblog NSFW things, so you know proceed with however much caution you’d like.
Anon is always on if you wanna say hi or ask anything!

you would think, like, "oh, we've already thought of all the metaphorical ways we can say penis/vagina. we've already come up with the full list of nicknames. we have exhausted the list of innuendos. there is nothing else new to be said about this" and then you'll open a random explicit fic and make the most improbable linguistic discovery of all time

happy weekend quincy!! can't believe it's the weekend again, time is so weird lately. for your ask game, may I please request 12 and 19? <3
Hiiiii
(thank you for resending this sorry I deleted it by accident 😭)
12. A trope you’re really into right now
I’ve been reading a lot of biological BDSM fic recently, just cause I’m getting back into writing tall kids and reaaaalllly exploring Gabe and Matt’s whole dom/sub thing. Looking for inspiration and tropes and structure of sex scenes and that stuff.
19. The most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic?
Well the whole cowboy thing has become a huge undertaking that I’ve really, really enjoyed. I’m reading a couple of books I found on the Internet archive just so I can build tone and slang and get the vibes for what it was like working and living out in the Wild West, especially how the USA American archetype was even beloved up in Canada, and what a Canadian Cowboy life was like.
Literally been building a slang index for myself, just cause I love that kind of shit.
always such a struggle when you get to the sex scene part of the fic you're writing and you're not horny at all. i don't know. their things were touching. without ANY underwear. the end.
I saw your ask game and I wasn’t sure if it was limited to those questions but in case it’s not I submit two🥹
if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you’d write one for…?
And what inspired you to write do not run??
Hi!!! You can always ask whatever you like tbh, the ask game posts are just cause I wanna encourage people to come say hi ☺️
If I had to write a sequel to a fic (that doesn’t already have a sequel) it would be for time to raise hell or walk on by. Gabe’s gotta get a hobby when he’s playing househusband in Jersey right???
What inspired me to write do not run??
I had just read this soulmate goose sidgeno fic and just found the idea so odd and charming and I wanted to see if I could write my own soulmate goose story. Also I’ve had a few run ins with Canadian Geese and you could not fucking pay me to go anywhere near one again. Terrifying creatures.

Going out and wheeling has never really been Matt’s thing. He’s just not a hookup kinda guy, but he doesn't want to seem not cool or whatever so he sort of goes along and hopes the girls just take the fucking hint. When it doesn’t work, Matt gets the brilliant idea to just send the girls to Gabe. Gabe's cute and handsome he's fucking Prince Charming. It's perfect.
thank you @jiminy-crickets for the idea <3
This is an excerpt of what is supposed to be a cute lil one shot. We’ll see if this story escapes my habit of making everything as complicated as possible.
===
Matt wasn't sure who had picked the fucking rooftop bar, but as soon as he found out, he was gonna cut the guys skate laces. Shaving cream in a towel to the fucking face, tape all his sleeves shut. This was so fucking stupid.
It was not warm enough to be on top of a fucking roof, barely fucking spring, not even twenty degrees now that the sun had set, and it was windy. Sure, the place had those weird glowy warmer towers, and the team had scoped out a bunch of couches by a fake fire pit, but still. Matt was kinda regretting not bringing like, gloves or something.
Not that he couldn't handle the cold, he was from Alberta okay, it was just, the fucking wind -
"Oh my god, it's freeeeezing," whined a high, soft voice, and Matt glanced down to see, well. Another fucking girl, this one with a short blond hair cut, razor sharp and swinging around her chin. She had bright, glittery green eyes, and her mouth was painted cherry red as she pouted.
"Yea," Matt tucked his elbows into his sides, throwing a glance at where the bartender was pouring a pitcher for him to bring back to the guys. "Not rooftop weather, eh?"
"Eh?" The girl teased, pressing against his side and swinging her hips. "You Canadian or something?"
Matt looked down, and like, he did feel kinda bad, maybe, sometimes, turning all these girls down. He didn't even fucking get it, like, whatever, he was tall, and didn't look completely ugly, but he wasn't like, a movie star.
"Something." Matt said shortly, reaching up to tug at his toque, but it wasn't there. Fuck, he'd forgotten, he'd given it to-
"Matt." Gabe was suddenly there, reaching around Matt to grab the pitcher and thank the bartender.
"Perry, man," Matt grabbed the beer from him, and Gabe glared up, cheeks flushed from drinking, his dark curls sticking out from under the toque on his head. Matt's toque.
Gabe had been fucking bitching all night about how cold his ears where. And Matt hadn't even really thought about it, just pulling the hat off his head and tossing it to Gabe.
"Like Perry the Platapus?" The girl blurted out, and then she giggled, "sorry, oh my god," covering her mouth and blushing. "That was so stupid."
"Never heard that one before," Gabe grinned at her, "it's a nickname. I'm Gabe."
"Charlotte," and she tipped her head to the side, stepped in closer until Gabe was backed up against the bar.
"Um." Matt felt really fucking awkward, all of a sudden. "I'm just gonna," and he waved a hand towards the group, but Gabe didn't even glance up, dark eyes trained on fucking Charlotte.
"Yea man," Gabe was smiling, a slow, warm one, one Matt hadn't ever seen before. "I'll be there in a sec."
"Sure." Matt stood there, one second, two, just long enough to see Gabe's hand reach up to wrap around to girl's hip, and then Matt turned and fucking didn't look back.
"Hey, yo, the fuck happened to Gabo?"
"He's busy," Matt grumbled, pouring himself a beer and chugging it, then refilling his glass.
"Hey!" JT thumped Matt on the back, laughing. "Remps is going hard tonight boys,"
"Let's do fucking shots, where did-" Laffs stumbled to his feet, off to the bar, but he was only gone for a second before he came rushing back. "You boys are not gonna fucking believe," Matt slumped further into the stupid fancy couch, wind cutting over his ears and through his hair. It was too fucking cold for this. "Baby Gabo's fucking pulling-"
"Fucking Gabo!"
"A ten, boys, we've got a fucking ten,"
"Rookie's becoming a fucking man tonight!"
Matt had stopped fucking listening at that point, the voices overlapping, going all sloshed. He gulped back his beer, until there wasn't any left, and then slammed it down.
"Woah." Eddy grabbed Matt's arm as he stood, "bro, you good Rempe, hey," Matt ripped his arm away, nearly tripping over him own big feet as he stumbled away from the guys, who were all fucking looking at him now.
"It's too fucking cold." Matt snapped, shoving his hands in his pockets, and turning to leave.
Someone shouted his name, but Matt didn't bother to look back, brushing past a crowd by the door trying to get past the bouncer, and through the hallway, to the tiny fucking elevator.
He jammed his finger on the button, once, twice, fucking three times before it finally lit up, and then he had to fucking wait.
Fuck, why was he so mad? Matt frowned down at his shoes, kicking his toe at the weird slick floor of the hall. It was great that Gabe was getting fucking laid, that girl was a rocket, good for fucking Gabe.
Matt had been throwing girls at him all goddamn season, of course eventually, like, Gabe wasn't a fucking monk, the dude got laid plenty, Matt assumed he did, looking like that, seriously the fucking cheekbones alone-
The elevator doors slid open, and Matt hurried to get out of the way of the crowd of people flooding out, laughing and talking fucking loud as hell, and quickly shuffled around them, slouching and ducking his head to get into the elevator.
Matt smacked the button for the ground floor, pulling his phone out so he could fucking figure out where the fuck that Uber Laff had ordered had taken them, hopefully they weren't anywhere out East, Jesus, if they weren't along the red it was gonna take ages for Matt to get back.
"Matt!" Matt snapped his head up, just as the doors began to close, to see Gabe running down the hall. "Fucking!"
Matt stuck his arm out, catching the door so that Gabe could get into the elevator, a little out of breath, still flushed pink, mouth looking kinda puffy, wet.
Like he'd been kissing someone.
"Thanks man." Gabe smiled at Matt, and pulled the toque off his head, pushing it into his back pocket as the doors slid shut.
"Yea. Uh." Matt glanced back down at his phone, but he'd kinda forgotten what he was doing.
The elevator jolted, and everything in Matt's stomach fucking sloshed, so he put a hand out on the elevator wall, just to steady himself.
"You okay Remps?" Gabe's hands pressed along Matt's side, kinda petting at him, like he was a fucking, dog, or something.
"Yea, man," Matt leaned harder into the wall, Jesus, the little room was tipping weird, maybe he shouldn't of had that last beer. He wasn't sure how much he'd had to drink tonight, actually.
"You don't look too hot."
"Dude," Matt had to shove Gabe a little, cause like, the guy was getting really fucking close. "I'm fine."
"Okay," Gabe put his hands up, and took a step away.
The elevator sunk through all the floors, down, and down, Matt glaring at the numbers panel, trying not to look at Gabe, who was chewing on his lip, making it worse, swollen, shiny with spit.
"She that bad with her mouth?"
"What?" Matt swallowed, finally looked right at Gabe. Even in the flat light of the elevator, he looked good.
"I said, was she-"
"I fucking heard you." Gabe snapped.
The elevator dinged, and the doors slid open.
Matt held his arm out, making sure the doors didn't close as Gabe huffed and stomped out infront of him, through the fancy carpeted lobby that was really just a hallway. And Matt followed, hands jammed into his pockets, staring at the back of Gabe's head all the way out onto the street.
"Ugh," Gabe crossed his arms, glaring around at the people rushing past them. "Why's it so fucking cold?"
"Just," Matt reached over and tugged his toque out of Gabe's back pocket, then slipped it over Gabe's head. "Can't have our star rookie loosing his ears, eh?"
Gabe squinted up at Matt, and Matt's hands fell to his shoulders.
"You wanna call a car?" Gabe finally asked.
Matt dropped his hands, pulled his phone out, that's what he'd been doing.
"I was gonna take the train," Matt flipped his phone to show it to Gabe. "We're like, right off Hudson, we can-"
"Sure, whatever." Gabe sighed, stepping in close to Matt as a cold wind rattled through the street. "I trust you."
"Cool. Um, yea, this way."
Matt led them up to Hudson and west, headed for the subway stop just over on Prince.
Luckily they were just south of Manhattan, kinda East Village but maybe not really? Matt was still trying to get a handle on all the names and areas in New York, the boroughs, but he'd gotten pretty good at the trains.
Probably a good thing, since Gabe was shit at directions, and if he didn't live in Matt's building, the guy would have probably ended up in fucking Brooklyn trying to get back from a game.
"She wasn't." Gabe said, once they were sitting on the train. It was one of the fancy new ones, blue and yellow bench seats, digital boards. Matt had been staring at the little train line map, watching the pixels move with every stop.
"Huh?" Matt turned to look at Gabe, who was slumped next to him, glaring across to the other side of the train car, arms still crossed.
"She was fine, like," Gabe waved his hand around, then dropped it to the seat right next to Matt's leg. "With her mouth."
"Okay." Matt drew his legs in, tucking them under his seat. "Sorry, I like, shouldn't have-"
"Why'd you leave so fast?" Gabe interrupted, looking up at Matt with his fucking Prince Charming brown eyes.
"Wasn't feeling it, I guess." He had to look away, he didn't fucking know how to explain what had happened to him, why he'd gotten so damn pissy and fuck, whatever, about Gabe getting some, like, Matt should have been stoked for his buddy. "You didn't have to come with me."
"Whatever." Gabe leaned into Matt, pressing their shoulders together. "She wasn't that good either."
"Yea." Matt mumbled. "Um, we gotta," Matt stood as the doors slid open, hand pushing Gabe's shoulder to guide him out of the train, across the platform, onto the next one.
Gabe nearly fell asleep, head on Matt's shoulder on the one, headed north.
On the subject of AI, I have a confession to make: I use it. Not to write for me, but to help me check for inconsistencies, to brainstorm ideas, to write outlines, to give me a couple of lines when I've been stuck for hours, to be my beta reader, if you will. Generative AI is bad? Yes, but it also a useful tool if one isn't lazy. I don't ask: write me a story. I go with my story and ask: help me with continuity. Look, this paragraph is clunky, how do I make it better? The demonization of generative AI is fair, but to be honest, I also understand people who use it. Maybe they're afraid of writing themselves, maybe they're insecure and don't trust their prose. Maybe they have brilliannt ideas but they need help to make them become fics.
To me, this is very much connected to my last ask where I was talking about how we don't have enough mentors in fandom to support the influx of people entering it.
All of the things that you're asking AI to do used to be done by a beta reader (or more than one!). A fandom friend (or even a random stranger who volunteered) would read through your work and help you with those issues.
Betas are amazing. They can help with grammar and spelling. They can regionalize language. They can provide sensitivity reading if they're from a marginalized community that you're writing about and aren't a member of. They can track canon, help with research, even just be a sounding board to discuss ideas with.
And sometimes, they're just a cheer reader - someone reading your story and telling you how awesome it is because they love it just as much as you do.
I understand turning to AI if you 1) don't know beta readers exist or 2) don't know how to obtain one. The need for that kind of support doesn't go away just because you can't access it.
But for anyone out there who needs this kind of help and wants to avoid Gen AI, you can write a post on your blog, add it to an author's note, check out resources like @needabeta or - if the time of year is right and you have the funds - place a bid on beta reading services during @fandomtrumpshate
Beta readers are often involved in fandom events like big bangs and exchanges, and if anyone is looking to host such an event, it's a great way to get people involved who aren't writers or artists but would love to help out.
I get it, anon. We use the tools that are available to us. But here's another potential tool if you're interested in branching out?
Sometimes it's scary to post a message asking for beta readers, you are putting yourself out there, you have no idea who might respond to your message (if anyone at all) and nowadays a lot of bots are muddying the waters.
I definitely recommend searching a beta reader within the fandom you're writing for rather than someone who knows nothing about it.
And when you don't immediately get a response, ask again. This comes from a person (me) who is now two and a half years into dating the girl who replied to my 'I need a beta reader' post that I was debating to reblog that day.
Sometimes I wonder where our lives would be if I hadn't reblogged it or if she had skipped past the post.
Fandom is a community of people with shared interests. It's supposed to make it easier for us to become friends, hang out and talk for hours.
Not a single AI tool in the world is capable of giving (fandom) writers/artists/creators what they actually need.
I would argue that there is a much bigger issue here with this kind of use of AI.
Struggling through a problem is a huge part of learning. Getting stuck, reworking things eighty times, realizing you need to delete half a page and try again, looking up random grammar rules you don't know--this is how you learn. This is also how you develop your own voice. These are necessary parts of the process.
By turning to AI every time something gets a little hard or goes a little slowly or sounds a little wrong, you are hamstringing your own development. You are preventing yourself from growing at all as a writer.
Betas absolutely can help with this growth. It's not the same as turning to AI. Other human beings spark your synapses in a way genAI simply does not. I'm not saying you shouldn't use betas.
I am saying that while struggle might be uncomfortable and it might slow down the process and you might not like it, it is a necessary part of building skills, and by outsourcing struggle to a machine, you are limiting your own cognitive capabilities and your own ability to actually write.
