I just got an irl friend into Rise recently and it's been hilarious.
Hi friend! I have been enjoying this experience, and remember I don't use my irl name on this blog
The first phase was actually getting them into the show, which took a while, they're my fandom chatting friend so we talk about our fandoms (even if we're not in the same one) and they've been joking about how I've been obsessed with rottmnt.
Second, they finally watch it and give me commentary as they watch it.
"WHY DOES THE NEWS WORM HAVE NIPPLES"
"'Stage 6 Fanfiction' Oh he just becomes us"
"I don't trust the hotel lady"
"I literally have to send this as a voice note, what the fuck do you mean John Cena! Answer me {Wire}!"
"I can't believe John Cena can sing"
"THE RAT SHOULD NOT BE LOOKING TO RIZZ UP BIG MAMA"
"THE RAT AND BIG MAMA WERE A THING???"
"If April dies or explodes into a million light orbs by the end of this series I'm going to mclose it"
"If someone dies in the movie it's going to be Leo"
They are now obsessed with it and I can say I told you so.
We're now onto the fandom lore part of it, and this is where I'm having fun, they'll send me something by a creator I'm mutuals with/ know from their content and I'll be like:
Me "Hey! It's this person I know from this content or I am mutuals with"
Them "How the fuck do you know everyone!?"
It took the power of the hub to get them to watch the movie about a week after they watched the show and they did not disappoint.

So yeah, it has been fun after 4 years in the fandom to see someones thoughts to watching it for the first time again, and plus them watching the movie prompted some of us to watch it as a group on vc again.
