So annoying to me when people think citing the actions of FICTIONAL female characters counts as evidence that femininity doesn't hold women back. "Omg, she can run and fight with heels and a dress! And even if the actor is a real person, the scene is choreographed, rehearsed and edited with CGI. It's fake!

Prostitution is evil in every sense, it is just another way for men to take what they want and degrade you while doing so. Stop calling it sex work. Those men aren’t “customers” they are vile pests. They get off on the fact that prostitutes aren’t protected, aren’t looked for and aren’t valued. The danger is apart of the appeal to these men.

Stop calling it sex work. It was never work. It’s just another form of slavery. Prostitution is evil and kills women everyday. Stop normalizing it.

I believe this is less detached than you think, he is emotionally abusive at best. He is doing this intentionally. He is attempting to gaslight her. She revealed something exploitable about herself, and he's exploiting it. Abusive men start with "small" arguments that seem impossible to have as a rational adult, and so the reaction from the victim is usually "I must be missing something...maybe if I explain." This is the purpose, to start making her feel detached from reality. This is why they come on reddit to ask if they're overreacting - his abuses are working. He has slowly moved the needle to the point she losing grasp on what is rational and true. I can't be sure, obviously, but I would bet the pillow thing is just one of many, many, many things he is doing to slowly skew her reality.

I only say all this not to say OP or anyone in the notes are wrong, but to remind people that the knee jerk reaction you have, of listening to a woman's bizarre situation and going "huh?? what are you talking about??" that's by design from the abuser. He wants you to believe she's crazy and out of touch and weak minded, and that he's just some oaf she's too stupid to dump. He doesn't mind if you think he's an oaf, if it gives him more control of her in the long run.

It's important to note three days after his cardiac arrest, his wife left the country and fully bailed. I have not seen any reports of her return.

It's MORE important to note, that if a Kentucky Senator is unable to serve, a special election to called to replace them. Unless they die/are fully unable to serve after August 3rd, then it does not happen. Then, he is not replaced.

It is likely they will keep him Technically Alive until August 4th to stall and avoid this election.

The EVEN BIGGER thing to note is there has been a very, very large string of MASSIVE absences by many, many (often older) congressmen and women that have normalized this type of disappearance and silence.

One was found in a care home with dementia after not reporting to work for months. One disappeared for FOUR MONTHS because he was "depressed" but also was doing sports betting and investment work while gone. (He got paid sick leave that he voted against for everyone else, btw).

McConnell has been in hospital for a MONTH and we are just finding out now it was cardiac arrest and he's still in the hospital (likely braindead but that's inference, not a released statement).

This behaviour has been normalized in this country. Every example listed is a republican BUT democrats have had their share of congressmen and women with dementia being puppeted by their staff, which is on the same level as shit this.

This is a structural issue. McCain's constituents may not get to vote for his replacement in a timely manner because his team (and his missing wife??) are allowed to hide his effective death.
