do ittt. Â (x)
As someone else pointed out:
Doing this would be extra fantastic because suddenly all of the pre-printed inauguration memorabilia â45th Presidentâ stuff Trump has made would suddenly be made inaccurate, as Biden would technically own that title. So theyâd either have to scramble to make a bunch of new stuff OR theyâd have to go through with the Inauguration without any â46th Presidentâ t-shirts or hats or whatever OR all the Trump supporters would just have to buy merchandise that was technically inaccurate.
Can you imagine learning about this in history classes in the future? I would love to be that teacher
Student: so the 45th president was Biden for like, a day? Teacher: yes Student: why Teacher: drama

Anonymous Collections and Disappearing Works: An AO3 Mystery (thatâs not actually a mystery at all)
Iâve seen several people in the past 2 weeks post in utter confusion about their works disappearing after they were notified that theyâd been added to a collection - or not notified at all. This sounds like a deep mystery, but itâs not.
A somewhat new feature on AO3 is the ability to invite works to a collection. Each user can set their preference to either accept all such invitations automatically or decide each one manually. You can also set whether to be emailed about invitations or not. These settings are under your âPreferencesâ menu, in the âCollections, Challenges and Giftsâ section.
Recently, several users have started creating collections instead of using personal bookmarks for a topic. This is fine! These users then started inviting works to those collections. Also fine! Thatâs what the system was designed for.
Some of those collection owners got excited about the Anonymity function that collections can turn on or off. They decided to make their collections anonymous. To protect anonymity, if a work is listed in a collection that is set to anonymous, the work does not appear on your personal works page. This makes sense if you enter a challenge and it has an anonymous period before reveals - having the work appear on your personal works page would break anonymity pretty badly!
Unfortunately, I think most people setting Anonymity on these new invitation-only collections donât realize that theyâre making peopleâs existing works disappear from their works pages. If you have âAutomatically agree to your work being collected by others in the Archiveâ and âTurn off emails from collectionsâ both checked, your work might seem to literally vanish. Someone adds it to their collection, you donât get an email because you turned those off, and you never find out what happened.
However! Thereâs a very simple solution.
Go to your works page (http://archiveofourown.org/users/YOUR USERNAME/works).
Select the button âWorks in Collectionsâ.
All your works in collections will pop up, and all the collections will be listed in the filters.
Skim down to find your missing work, or use the filter list to look for a collection you donât remember seeing before and filter by it.
Edit your work.
Under âPost to Collections / Challengesâ, press the âxâ beside the collectionâs name.
Save your work.
This will remove your work from the collection - for now. If this happened to you, I highly recommend turning off âAutomatically agree to your work being collected by others in the Archiveâ in your preferences to avoid the work being re-added to the collection by a confused collection owner who doesnât understand what happened.
Collection owners, please make sure you understand what Anonymity does before enabling it! For most invitation-only collections, it doesnât make sense to enable that, because the works already exist and have names attached to them on the archive.
This is a helpful FYI! This happened to me â I approved adding Exclusive to a collection because I didnât know anything other than âyay someone likes my workâ, and Roos let me know this morning that my work was showing up as orphaned. I was very worried until I saw this post. Went in and removed it from the collection someone had added it to, and it no longer looks orphaned. Thank goodness.
Haha, and apparently yanking your fic back from a collection results in a notification to subscribers that youâve posted a new work.
Oh nooooo, I have faked everyone out! D:

School Successfully Replaces Detention With a Mindful Meditation Room
this is such a good and productive decision?Â
Ok everyone should do this. Stop punishing children for having emotions. School is stressful! Theyâre reacting to the stress, especially if they have teachers that dismiss them
What a beautiful concept. Protect and help the babies
harry potter was such a pure child like he went to a ghosts death day party, he talked to myrtle bc she was lonely, he set a snake free bc it was unhappy, he genuinely was friends with luna even thought people thought she was weird, he attended aragogâs funeral, he met some lanky kid on the train and his immediate reaction was to buy the whole fucking trolly to share with him, and then when they got to hogwarts and malfoy was talkin shit about this kid he met a few hours ago he just went oh no u didnt ima protect this one
hes just so pure feel free to add to this
Donât forget that his first reaction to realizing he could talk to snakes was to make small talk.

Tips That Can Save Your Kidâs Life.
THIS IS IMPORTANTÂ
When I was a child, from the time I was about four and could understand things, my mom told me and my brother that we should have a secret word. That way, if we were ever in trouble or felt unsafe and we didnât want the people around us to know we needed her to come get us, we could let her know. So she let us pick the word and my brother and I chose the phrase âpeanut butter cups.â (Iâm happy to share the phrase now since both my brother and I are adults now).Â
I used the phrase twice in my life. Once, I was at a friends house when I eight years old. Her dad got really drunk and was throwing things against the wall. I was really scared and I didnât want to draw attention to myself on the phone when I called my mom to come get me because I didnât know if he would get more violent if I asked her to come get me. So I called her and was calm and after a couple minutes I asked âHey mommy, did you get me those peanut butter cups from the store?â And she said âIâll be right there.â And she came and got me within minutes.Â
Second, I was a teenager spending the night at a friends house. Her brother and dad were drinking and they started talking about things that made me uncomfortable - ie: what they liked to do to women. My friend didnât seem perturbed and said that was normal for them and that I shouldnât worry. But I was worried because they were really drunk and I was 15 and the only âwomanâ around that wasnât related to them. I went in my friends room, told her I needed to call my mom and say goodnight. Before I hung up with her I asked âNext time we go to the store, can we get some peanut butters cups? Iâve been craving them.â And she came and got me, just like that.Â
Two incidents, one as a young child, one years later as a teen. Donât discredit this stuff, it fucking works. My brother used it a few times too. Let your child pick the word and no never, ever, ever, ever get mad at them for using it no matter what it is.Â

âA very old man came in to my Starbucks. Halfway through struggling to understand his order through his thick accent, he noticed my necklace. He stopped and said âYour star is beautiful.â, and I thanked him. There was a long pause before he spoke again. When he did, he said âIt is beautiful, but I am having a hard time looking at it. The last time I wore one, it was mandatory.â We then spoke to each other in Hebrew for a bit. But soon enough he stopped again, and looked back to my star. With one hand he held mine, and used his other hand to shakily touch the sapphires on my necklace. His lip shook, and tears rolled down his cheeks. In a shaky, heavily German-accented whisper, he said âI am so happy you are here. Your generation is here. We won.â and kissed my hand.âĄâ
