Wot?

One of them was a queen in the making. But her mind had a mind of it's own. Just like the weather; she couldn't trust it cos she didn't know when it would change. But she knew she was born to be big, to leap over mediocrity, to fly above the highest clouds. The other one was born in a golden cradle. Her fate was decided, so her decisions didn't matter so much. She could waste all her time and not turn back to take a look at the mess. But she had aspirations. That's probably what attracted them to each other. They had dreams. Their worlds matched, their thoughts aligned. Their differences baffled them but their similarities brought them closer. That's probably why they were soulmates. They were in love which had no sexual element, but just purity of intention; the intention to look out for each other. To care immensely, without expecting an ounce of care in return. They weren't going to marry each other or create a family together. They were going to find a spouse in someone else. Someone like them. But they had found something more meaningful and endless with each other. Maybe that's what they felt in that drunk "best friend" kiss. Maybe that's what true friendship tasted like. Maybe that's why they were soulmates.
