Humans are an interesting folk. When trolls and humans first interacted, the earth did not have a monoculture or even a singular government- so do note that as you mingle you may find yourself within a culture or subculture that has very different expectations from larger groups. That being said, there are some key factors in both greetings and general behaviors that are virtually universal across the grand majority of human cultures. Let's see, starting off with greetings, trolls and humans have very similar expectations verbally but when you're meeting humans I truly advise watching your body language and facial expressions. As trolls are often much taller than humans closed-off posture like crossing your arms or 'commanding' stances like putting both hands on your hips can put them at some unease- subconsciously or otherwise. As for facial expressions, once again we're mostly on the same page, but there's one key difference: humans. always. smile when they meet someone new. You don't have to grin, but you'd be surprised how important even the tiniest smile is when you're mingling or being introduced!
