Do you draw your button designs yourself?
Yes! Aside from the backgrounds on the gym badges which are sprite rips from the games they are from, I do make the designs myself. I try to keep things as neat and as close to correct proportions as i can while I draw, and then I pass my image through a vector program to clean it up and make sure it’s the best quality possible. And sometimes I need to do few touchups after that to get it how I want it! Some of my designs have a set template, like the pokeballs, so I don’t need to do as much extensive design work on each iteration, but others, like the evil team logos, I have to start from scratch each time!
Up to now i have only made button designs that demanded I stay true to the object’s proportions, because, lets face it, it wouldn’t have looked right if any of the evil team logos or energy symbols looked different to how they are in canon. But pretty soon I will be doing some designs that will give me a lot more freedom - I’ll be drawing sets of pokemon to put on buttons! And while I’ll still have to make them as familiar as possible, I’ll have a lot more freedom to design them how I want, such as giving them an interesting pose or action.
Also, for anyone wondering if I’ll be making any designs that aren’t pokemon, the answer is yes! I’ll be looking into making designs from other popular games such as super mario and legend of zelda, to name just two. I’m not sure when those will come out, but it may be quite soon! It just depends on when I get around to making them!
I'm not sure if you knew or not, but you're not allowed to sell Homestuck-based merchandise and I noticed you had zodiac sign pins that not only were black-backgrounded, but had the same exact color schemes as the Homestuck Trolls. Unless you've gotten permission from Hussie, I'm afraid you're not exactly doing so legally.
I am not entirely familiar with the Homestuck copyrights, but I figured at least those ones would be fine to have up for sale, seeing as there are no copyrights against the zodiac symbols, black backgrounds, or rainbow color schemes. If someone can confirm to me that it isn't okay, I'll happily take them down!
