She’s always just a few notches away from being mama’s little girl.
Sometimes she thinks she’s adult. Too grown to be taken care of. And mama knows just how to cure that.
A little humbling in the form of a firm scolding, bare bottom timeout, a shower with mama (because yes the woman child sometimes took showers with mama. She would let mama wash her and then was instructed to sit and play while mama showered too.), and finally an early bedtime accompanied by her little girl goodnites.
Ellie would fight it, of course. But deep down Vicky knew what her daughter needed.
“Elizabeth!” Vicky’s fed up tone made it to a Ellie’s ears just in time for jer to turn around and be faced with two angry mothers.
She shouldn’t have muttered what she had.
“God, just leave me alone. I’m not a little kid and I don’t need those reminders.”
Ellie snapped the words as she pushed the bathroom door shut, petulant and sharp, but the door opened again immediately.
Vicky stepped in and Alyssa followed, closing it behind them.
Ellie turned anger still present, “Just back off please!”
And that was when the mothers knew that their Ellie didn’t need a night out with friends but a binky and early bedtime. “That demeanor and attitude right there is exactly why you still get treated like this.”
Ellie scoffed. “I just wanna be able to leave without all the rules you give me. My friends are literally outside!.”
Alyssa folded her arms. “Lower your voice, little girl. You’re whining.”
“I am not—” Ellie started, then stopped when Vicky raised a hand.
“You slammed a door, you snapped at us, and now you’re pouting,” Vicky said. “You’re acting like a little girl having a tantrum.”
Ellie’s face went bright red at the reprimand. She hated when they were right.
“Don’t say that!” she whined, the word stretching embarrassingly thin.
Vicky didn’t soften, “Here’s what’s happening,” she said. “You are taking a shower, and then it’s early bedtime. Tonight is done.”
The woman-child’s eyes went wide, ready to beg like a schoolgirl, “No! Please no! I be good mama!”
Alyssa shook her head. “Too late now Elliebear.”
Ellie’s eyes stung. She hugged herself, rocking once on her heels like she didn’t even notice she was doing it.
“I don’t wannnnaaaaa!!” She began to whine and cry.
Vicky turned toward the living room. “I will send your friends away while mommy deals with your tantrum.”
“Sorry, girls,” Vicky said in the living room, clear and loud.
“Elliebear had a bit of a meltdown, so it’s time for her to go night-night, girls.”
Ellie made a small, mortified sound in the bathroom when she overheard her mama talk about her like she was a baby needing a nap. Because, really to mama and mommy that’s all she would ever be.
Alyssa gently but firmly steered Ellie to face her directly
“I need you to go to that corner and pull those jeans and undies down,”
Alyssa said, pointing to the corner of the bathroom. “Face the wall.”
Ellie hesitated, then nodded, because she did need this. She was nervous about going out with friends and all her mind screamed for was for cuddles with mama and mommy, but was too ashamed too admit that.
Instead she forced herself to act grown….and here were the results.
Her voice was barely audible with the embarassment she felt. The words slipped out without thinking, “Yes mommy.”
She shuffled to the corner, shoulders slumped, staring at the tile. Her hands fidgeted in front of her, twisting the hem of her shirt.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, sounding very small as she hung her head down and shuffled to the corner feeling every bit like the little girl she was sure they would treat her like tonight.
Alyssa could lightly see the outline of Ellie’s cotton big girl panties. She had begged mama to let her wear her thong but mama said she was acting too little for those that morning. In fact mama had chosen her whole outfit to Ellie’s chagrin. The black non cartoon undies were a compromise, but in the end mama thought it was a sensible outfit for her little woman child.
The younger woman whimpered as she pulled her big girl jeans and panties down then kneeled there, cheeks hot, pride completely gone, reduced to a quiet, chastised little presence in the corner of the bathroom, waiting to be told what came next.
And for all the embarrassment twisting in her chest the need to potty came stronger. She grabbed at her woo woo and told mommy that she needed to potty, but mommy made her wait.
Currently, her lower half was naked and soggy as she sat on the bath mat. Her tinkle accident had earned her ten thwacks with Mr. Brush that had her hopping and begging mommy to stop because she was so sowwy!!!
Well now all Ellie could do was feel sorry for herself as Mama was getting her shower ready to clean up her wet girl botty. The woman child watched her mama from the floor like a toddler, thumb in her mouth, legs bowed out, her little kitty showing, and a slight little sway that she just couldnt help.
Oh what a fall from grace!
