I remember the first time I went to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The Mandir was freshly inaugurated that year. I was beyond euphoric to go witness what my previous generations waited their entire lives to see. Growing up in a family where I was taught that Ram was Maryada Purushottam, the man with the most ideal character, I always associated him with the principles of honestly, justice, fairness and equality. The moment I saw the Bhavya Prangan, I felt something in my heart that is not expressible through words, it can only be felt. Going there, I had about a thousand rupees in my purse tat I had been saving since a long time, bit by bit. Putting in those thousand rupees into the Daanpeti, I had a satisfaction knowing that somehow...somewhere...what I worked so hard to save up will ultimately find my lord.
Cut to, a few days ago. I read the news about the scam in my Aradhya Dev's home. The first thing I thought about was not the thousand rupees of mine that went into the Daanpeti— it was a doubt. Did the feeling of satisfaction about my savings reaching Bhagwaan amount to nothing? Was it all really just a lie fed to me? All this time, when I was thinking Shree Ram's name was synonymous with Justice, this was what they did to him in his own temple.
Shree Ram never was BJP's. Shree Ram had always belonged to his people. Everything the Bharatiya Janta Party has said about "saving" Hinduism was a blatant bluff. When did Hinduism, the gods, or other religions for that matter need people to protect them?
Wake up people. These people see Hindus as votebanks. You see them as heroes. They are far worse for us that anyone else.
They talk about foreign invaders looting our temples don't they? Well, I guess Make in India also includes Indians themselves robbing their own temples.
Sone ki Lanka khud ki banate hain,
Ram ka tyaag bhi apna batate hain.
My god never needed anyone to save him, especially not people robbing from him. The sheer disrespect towards Ram was what makes me angry. Because it is not Kunal Kamra standing in a CJP Protest saying "Sita ke pati ka naam leke Nita ke pati ka kaam karte hain" that was disrespectful, but songs like "Kat jaoge mit jaoge, ho jayega ant, Fir na milega is Bharat ko Modi jaisa sant. Ram agar hain Modi toh Yogi hain Hanuman" DEFINITELY should've angered the masses more.
Perhaps, Nitish Tiwari should scrap his cast of Ramayana and cast our Hon'ble PM as Ram, Hon'ble Home Minister as Lakshman, Hon'ble CM of Uttar Pradesh as Hanuman and a certain Italian Prime Minister as Maa Sita, huh?
God watches everything. To some, it is a threat. To some, it is a blessing.
