i think it’s actually important at times to make the distinction between cis and trans men because this generalization does not apply to trans men. i’m not gonna say “not all men” though because everyone knows it’s not all of them but many, but please be mindful. i’ve spoken to trans men who are very hurt by these “men are awful” type of posts and rightly so. they are men too but don’t deserve to be shoved into this box along with sexist cis men.

trans men are men just as cis men are. make a distinction between the two, and you've got people being upset for not being classified as a "real man" and then you have people who are upset for being lumped in with the fuckhead guys who have no respect for others or for themselves. men are men regardless, and if you're really mad about being chuncked into a group of sexist cis males, prove you're different. the decades of abuse and distrust won't be erased because you're trans.
