Innocentius XIV (Vincent Benitez) from the movie Conclave was a young (comparatively) intersex cardinal who appeared unannounced at the Conclave after the Pope’s death. After a lot of political squabbles he was chosen as the new Pope, because of his compassionate spirit and connection to disadvantaged people (and maybe some godly intervention).

Cardinal Thomas Lawrence from the movie Conclave is the dean of the College of Cardinals. He’s responsible for planning the titular conclave and seeing to it that everything goes well and the Pope is chosen well. He wants to step down, but he keeps being forced to take responsibility.

He DOESN’T WANT YOUR VOTE!!!, which is exactly why he deserves it <3
