I don’t think Chromedome was ever abused, physically or psychologically, by Prowl. He ended up at the requisition clinic long after their breakup, which was because Chromedome felt he couldn’t trust Prowl because he was working for the Senate (not realizing that Prowl was doing it to help take it down from the inside). The breakup and Chromedome’s attempted assisted suicide actually had little to do with each other. People (both in-universe and in the fanbase) all just assume that Prowl was abusive because he’s a shady fragger. But all evidence points to him starting to become the kind of shady we’re used to long after the breakup.
honestly i never even considered that prowl might have been abusive to chromedome bc… it just doesnt seem like that was the case? prowl is incredibly morally grey, but he wasnt exactly the way he’s become after they returned to cybertron while he and chromedome were still together
having read the pre-mtmte comics, a lot indicates that the reason prowl is a massive dickhat later on is because spike pretty much betrayed him and his trust
i would feel sad for prowl but these panels always crack me up like prowl looks genuinely hurt over this fuckboy breaking up with him like this is after prowl followed spike to make sure he wasnt doing shit he wasnt supposed to do and spike made rounds to go “visit” ladyfriends its like prowl just caught spike in cheating on him
later on, whenever prowl talks about spike, he gets kind of cold and angry? its interesting, because pre-mtmte prowl is actually kind of a good guy
so… i dont think chromedome’s bad times had much to do with his and prowl’s breakup either… i mean whirl said this
and if u ask me, whirl has turned out to be way more perceptive than he lets on (haha get it cus he only has one eye)
im kind of surprised people think prowl was ever abusive to chromedome… well, their current relationship is incredibly tense and prowl isnt a great person anymore, but that’s called “ignoring what happened before mtmte”
