This is so beautiful. In Frozen Fever and Frozen 2, Anna comforts a sad, head-hanging Elsa in the same fashion. Breaking it down: Anna runs ahead, whirling around to face Elsa; she stoops lower than Elsa and looks intently at her face, trying to make Elsa look at her; she places both of her strong warm comforting hands on Elsa's shoulders firmly and tenderly.

The result? Elsa looks up ❤️❤️❤️

Tumblr is an even playing field compared to websites like Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube. Which means its up to us, the users, to spread the word of people we enjoy– the way the internet should be.

When creators say they’re discouraged from creating because their posts get no notes, they don’t mean they will refuse to create unless their last edit reaches at least 1k notes. What they mean is that the effort they’re putting into creating something purely out of inspiration and the need to share their passion and creativity with the world is being consumed and forgotten, just like it is on Instagram. Tumblr has changed from having an even reblog-like ratio, or even twice as many reblogs as likes, to being another social media where users consume content instead of sharing it.

We’re not trying to force you to reblog everything or want you to fill your blog with things you don’t like. But Tumblr is built on reblogs and likes. This is not a fast-food company where you can order something, consume it, and then throw it away. The very base of this website is sharing, as opposed to Instagram. Here, likes don’t give our posts exposure, reblogs do.

Anna’s last song in Frozen II (The Next Right Thing):

Hello, darkness, I’m ready to succumb I follow you around, I always have But you’ve gone to a place I cannot find This grief has a gravity, it pulls me down

The contrast and the parallels between these two songs blow me away. In Frozen I, Anna was filled with so much hope and optimism because she had nothing to lose. If anything, she had more to gain because she really had nothing in the first place. As long as Elsa was there - alive - she was willing to risk everything because their relationship was worth saving. Elsa was worth saving. She climbed a mountain, defeated the odds and defied death because the endgame was saving Elsa and/or getting her back again. That was all she ever wanted.

But in Frozen II, Anna had everything to lose. And she did. She went from being this optimistic and relentless force to someone surrendering to darkness and defeat. She went from 100 to 0; from Don’t panic! to Hello, darkness, I’m ready to succumb the moment it hit her that Elsa was no longer around, and she had to live the rest of her days in a world without her sister. 

Anna’s vocabulary changes here. There’s no more “we” - it became “I” because she was truly alone and there’s no one to fight for and to live for. Her entire arc as a Fairytale Character is deeply rooted in fixing things. She’s the fixer, and she’d do anything and everything to save those she loves and cares deeply for. But without Kristoff, Olaf, and Elsa, she had nothing left. She had no purpose and the will to go on.

We can face this thing together became you’ve gone to a place I cannot find - there’s no one to follow anymore. No one to face the world with. No one to live and die for. 

I think what hit me most is the contrast between And everything will be alright/This grief has a gravity, it pulls me down because the first line was said while Elsa was having a panic attack - and Anna was in the middle of all that (literal and metaphorical) storm with her sister. She wasn’t going to give up on Elsa. Anna was ready to face that storm head-on because Elsa was in the middle of it, too, and she didn’t want to let go. 

But grief? She allowed it to swallow her whole in Frozen II because Elsa’s absence meant life wasn’t really worth living anymore… and Anna only chose to live because of her obligation as the new queen. 

This is what’s so insane and absolutely beautiful and tragic about Anna - she will go to hell and back, die, and literally sacrifice every bit of herself just as long as it guarantees the safety and the life of those she loves. 

A realization: I think Anna would’ve chosen death again if that was the plot in Frozen II - if that was the only option, and if it meant she’d be saving Elsa from imminent harm. Of course she’d fight for her life, but if she needed to sacrifice it again, she’d totally do it. I think what broke Anna in Frozen II was the knowledge and the reality of living in a world without Elsa. She’d rather die trying to find and save Elsa than live without her.

…. And Anna would rather die first than go through life without her sister.
