Hi, I make Frozen gifs and I love discussing trivia, locations, animation and plot holes! I'm also in love with the songs and orchestral score of Frozen 2! Do drop me a comment if you like my posts! My tumblr icon is by teddyth88, I am a huge fan of their fanart of Frozen.
Hi, I make Frozen gifs but I have a musical side and have made ~30 musical analyses on the music of Frozen. Because my musical analyses get lost in the Dark Sea of my gifs, I’m pinning this post with links to all my Frozen musical stuff. Those in bold are my favourite.
New 15/11: Thanks to @sinnatagg I have categorized all my castle locations analysis into 1 post! I was really into locations in the month of March 2020, and found lots of continuity errors too!
Updates
New! 22/11: Guitar recordings of All Is Found (with Iduna singing) and Some Things Never Change (with E/A/O/K/S singing) Happy Birthday Frozen II!!

I finally watched DreamWorks The Wild Robot. I had seen trailers for it and have been very keen to watch it. I heard it got good reviews and was an Oscar contender.
My verdict? Animation was good but the film was let down by its plot holes and pacing. It ended poorly. It certainly did not live up to what was hinted at in the trailer. Spoilers after the break
Initially, Roz was annoying when she kept asking the animals if they needed her assistance. She's so advanced, can't she tell they are not humans?
It takes a lot of suspension of disbelief to accept that Roz could learn how to speak to animals in chirps/grunts/growls etc. If such technology exists...the world would be very different, Roz shouldn't have been the first one to discover it. There is also an inherent assumption that all the animals can speak to each other which doesn't make sense. Intra species, yes, but not inter-species. A bird can't speak to a fox.
I'm alright that the baby goose imprinted on to the robot. It's a main plot point and selling point. But later on, when the film revealed that there were THOUSANDS of geese on the island, I started to scoff. Did Roz, Fink the fox and Brightbill the young goose NOT know that there were other geese? Didn't hear them? Didn't see them flying? And the geese somehow knew that his family had been killed by Roz? Why would they know that? And why wouldn't the geese try to save Brightbill from Roz, whom they viewed as a monster? And why were the geese mean to Brightbill like school bullies?
The big betrayal where Brightbill left because he discovered that Roz hid the fact that she accidentally killed his family, did not hit the right way it should. It felt off and was just there because the plot needed it.
I doubt one week's worth of flight training would get Brightbill fit enough to fly a migration flight. Also I don't think a bird of prey can teach a duck to fly.
Brightbill taking over as the leader of the geese did NOT make sense. Again, the plot required it. Was there no second in command to the leader of the geese? Brightbill is a teen, he hasn't even flown the migration route before, how can he be the leader? Even if we allow for some innate electromagnetic sensing of the flight path, he still is very young and would not be able to make decisions on where is the best place to land etc. And we did not get to see the old leader goose go out in combat. The scene just abruptly cut to Roz. Why would the old goose willingly sacrifice himself?
The hibernation/winter scene does not make sense for so many reasons. I don't think the log "cabin" that Roz made would withstand such a terrible winter. (gee Elsa, warm up a little? 😂) but the BIGGEST PROBLEM is the number of some of the animals depicted. There's ONE fox? On the whole island? ONE beaver? ONE bear? One mama opossum but no male opossum? How the heck do these animals reproduce? How did they get to the island? If there's a main land where they came from, why wouldn't they go back there to seek shelter before winter? (oh, but in the scene that the raccoons steal parts from Roz, there were like 100 raccoons? Doesn't make sense! How does the island support so many raccoons?) Next problem, I can't believe they would all not eat each other while in the log cabin. Please, that is totally unrealistic. (going forward, how do the predators stop eating meat? They can't just convert to eat vegetation) And if you interrupt an animals hibernation like that, can they just simply resume hibernation for weeks in that cabin? Does the fire last forever? (in the ending of the film, we see a fire in the rebuilt log cabin - who started the fire? Animals can't make fire!) Also, characterizing Fink as being disliked by everyone else is too similar to Zootopia.
The scene that a crocodile (or was it a predatory fish?) was chasing Brightbill, and Roz saved him but damaged her foot - there were other geese in that same lake. If there was such a dangerous predator in the water, there is no reason the geese would swim there. If I recall, immediately after Brightbill was out of danger, we see geese on the water again. Inconsistent. The predator is only predatory when the plot calls for it.
Roz was depicted more than once to be "injured" or even near death but nothing came out of it. I recall that she seemed to be leaking hydraulic fluid and Fink was looking concernedly at her foot prints. This sets up the audience to think something bad is going to happen. But nothing did. After Roz collected all the animals into her cabin, it looked like she had accumulated too much damage from being in the cold and was on the brink of death. But no, spring came and she was totally fine. Later on, she yanked out her "core" while saving Brightbill when falling from the sky. This seemed to be the poetic ultimate sacrifice. I thought she'd be dead for sure. But no. Nothing happened. She still functioned and could even rebuild the log cabin. You can't lead the audience on like that repeatedly and not deliver! Fool me once... But not 3 times (or more)
The "evil robot" Vontra - there is no reason she is so seductive and so evil minded to pick up a gun. She's a robot. (similarly why do the warrior robots have deep male voices) During the fight scene Roz activated some device that (I can't recall exactly) magnetized Vontra or sucked her up by some force - why wouldn't that affect Roz too? That's cheating.
Robots vs ducks - why would the robots not have a more efficient way of taking down a large number of fast flying assailants like some kind of shield or electrocution? I remember the robots using a single laser gun to try and shoot down the birds one by one. In the greenhouse, the warrior robot caused damage to the greenhouse - surely the humans who built it would have planned for infestation and a means to control it without damaging the greenhouse.
Earth in the movie was not fully explained. We got one scene of the Golden Gate bridge under water with whales swimming on top of it. Poetic and thought provoking, some kind of post apocalyptic earth? but no explanation was provided. Early in, Roz takes out a brochure for a Florida vacation. So... San Fran is under water but Florida is not? We see a corn field in a green house, that's it. No explanation. I suppose it's all in the book (I have not read) but as a film, it must stand alone. Film viewers should not have to read the book to understand. Who's making these advanced robots and ships? What is the message being sent here? Wall E - lazy humans who have programmed robots to do everything? Is there an evil mastermind who also makes the warrior robots? (those robots looked scary) oh and by the way, the animals being able to defeat the warrior robots was ludicrous. Yes, I know that Roz adopted animal behaviors to beat the robots but come on. Roz is already stronger than the animals (she could carry the bear) and the warrior robots would be even stronger. But they can be beaten by animals. Roz's "skunk" spray should have zero effect on the warrior robot.
The beaver that was gnawing away at the tree - the way he was making a hole under the tree from one side, at some point the weight of the trunk would have collapsed ON him, not away from him, no?
The ending was the most disappointing part. Roz gives herself up and... Becomes a corn farmer. Brightbill comes to visit her periodically. It was not fulfilling or satisfying. What happened to all the knowledge Roz amassed? The fact that she developed emotions? Why was she allowed to survive? Wouldn't the humans have taken her CPU and recycle her? She was badly damaged and dirty, missing her core etc. Also the reunion felt a bit too reminiscent of the last scene of Baymax (big hero six) when the robot recognizes the main character.
Wanted to share something funny. We had a small incident in the kitchen earlier this week - something burnt while being cooked (don't worry, it's not serious) but it made a bad smoke smell that's still lingering. We hang washed clothes to dry quite close by so almost all of them picked up the smoke smell and had to be rewashed.
The funny thing is, there were 4 bath towels near the smoke: 1 was Minnie mouse, 1 was toy story, 2 were Elsa. The 2 Elsa towels were the only items in the whole batch of laundry that DID NOT pick up the smoky smell! Elsa vs Bruni all over again 😂

Allow me to crop your gifs to focus on Elsa's right hand.
I love how Anna's un-frozen hair lightly brushes, caresses Elsa's fingers as it falls downwards, and I'd like to think the sensation causes Elsa's hand to involuntarily grasp Anna's arm. It's all happening so quickly, Elsa is realizing that Anna is thawing and her clothes are unfrozen and Elsa can now grasp Anna's arm as opposed to when she was a block of solid ice. I'd like to think Elsa could feel the warmth coursing back through Anna's body.
In the second gif, Elsa tightens her right hand grasp of Anna's arm and pulls her arm forward while saying "Anna?" and letting out a huge breath (as seen from her heaving chest).
Putting them together: in a matter of seconds, Elsa's hand was holding onto cold hard ice, which turned to fabric and then when her hand was brushed by Anna's falling hair, that caused Elsa to grasp onto Anna's arm and then move that arm in confirmation that she really is truly back to life.
do u happen to know an elsa art where she was wearing a dress full of ice spikes
Sorry, no. I don't know if I might have reblogled that particular art though so if you don't mind you can search my blog. I have happened to reblog many frozen fan arts since I first opened my account.
Mapped out location of The Garden made by me used in my final part of the room location breakdowns
Just wanted to update you that I have now updated two of my room breakdown posts, part 4 and part 9/ the final part.
With reblogs me, @lovewillthaw-j and @virtual-winter were discussing the Royal/ Secret Garden location. When @virtual-winter hopped on to our discussion, he helped me realise that the Garden is not in the top right corner (from the front view of the castle) but rather the left/ west side of the castle. Frozen 1 doesn't show the garden well from afar. There's a specific Willow tree in the garden but also at the front. The front however has no entrance to the garden. No door that can be seen and doesn't even have the slanted roofs. But in Frozen 2, we can see the garden from afar and this time in bright autumn colours. So I made the conclusion that it's actually in the west/ left side of that castle. That area does also have the slanted roofs that can be seen in the Fro the First Time In Forever scene.
This may seem confusing but it all fits together in the post linked as Part 4 and 9, with each room annotated to their part in the exterior of the castle.
It's just such a pain when you find out that you've got it all wrong again 😭. The continuity errors are no help. But thankfully it didn't take me too long to update it. So now I hope all my close-to-accurate guesses on these locations are right. And I'm super excited to continue this series of Arendelle Castle Rooms when Frozen 3 and 4 come out (if we see new rooms that is)! ❄️
Interesting discussion, let me weigh in on the position of the Royal/Castle gardens. BTW @virtual-winter I'm still very much into castle locations even though it's 2025! (as you can tell from the length of this post you're about to read) ask me anything!
@virtual-winter I agree with you that if we accept that there is a willow tree (that animators forgot to animate) on the South (BTW @frozen-snowflakesandsunflowers it's the south not the west side, the "front" of the castle is East so to the immediate "left" would be the south) ie the garden is on the South side, this would be consistent with many things. Like you said, in zoomed out shots of the South castle, we can see the door to the garden, we can see the slanted roofs and the round pillar as seen in the close up shot from FTFTIF. For the zoomed out shot of the East side of the castle, we cannot see the door, we do not see the slanted roofs and we do not see the round pillar.
To add on, in Dangerous secrets, Agnarr and Iduna kissed and made out (hidden) in a tree. in my previous analysis below, I tried to figure out the tree's location.
So where IS this tree in the castle?
The book tells us that it is in the castle courtyard, with a little bench underneath it where 14 year
I could not come to a conclusion because of lack of specific info in the book. Top 2 contenders were a) the willow tree on the East castle. But it was problematic because it was too exposed - difficult for agnarr to walk through the whole courtyard to get to that tree without being seen + the young king could have been easily seen from the bridge or even assassinated 😱 b) a tree at the South side. In my analysis, this garden was more secluded and closer to the castle, making it easier for the young king to slip out and smooch. Also, if we think that this tree shown in Ahtohallan is the kissing tree:
...it is not a willow. So far so good, we have a lot of evidence to say that the castle garden is on the South side, if we just accept that the animators and set designers forgot to put in a willow tree in the zoomed out shots of the South castle.
The problem I have with this line of argument is, there are an overwhelming number of movie shots and production design pictures (eg: the art of Frozen, individual artists' blogs/insta) which consistently and repeatedly depict a willow tree on the East side of the garden, and simultaneously do NOT ever show a willow tree on the South side. The willow seems to be very special, there is only one of it and it is beautifully decorated and lit in Some Things Never Change in the background as Elsa and Anna walk across the bridge into the castle.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no picture/scene that ever shows the east side without a willow, nor is there ever a picture/scene that shows a willow in the south. Just to add, this is a picture of the South from The Official Movie Special book (originally posted by @bigfrozenfan), showing no willow.
Also to add from the book All Around Arendelle, just to drive home the point that there is a willow in the royal gardens (posted by someone who has left Tumblr)
So, in conclusion, I personally cannot 100% agree that the royal garden is in the south. But I definitely take your point about the door, the slanted roof and the round pillar! It's nice to hear fresh perspectives after so many years! I guess it all boils down to which continuity error we are willing to accept - the lack of a willow in the south, or, the lack of a door, slanted roof and round pillar in the east. I personally cannot accept that there's supposed to be a willow in the south but everyone forgot to draw it or animate it, also because the willow is consistently present in the east. Agree to disagree ❤️ to me the royal garden has to be in the east, but it has its own set of problems being there!
Thanks @frozen-snowflakesandsunflowers for tagging me in the discussion!
Sorry for odd question but I’m concerned by stuff I see on tumblr lately.
hi so I’m new to the Disney fandom and frozen fandom! I recently have seen some triggering content on my tumblr regarding frozen and now I just want confirmation because the topic people are saying is in frozen is triggering for me.
is there any canon inc*st in the frozen universe?
Welcome to the Frozen Fandom! The answer to your question is no, a definite no. If something triggers you, just block it and focus on what you like. Do check out my gifs and music analyses! Feel free to private message me if you would like to chat about Frozen.

Austronesians did also rely on a form of a physical map called a stick chart, illustrating the specific wave and swell patterns surrounding different island chains. These were particularly helpful during cloudy conditions when the sun and stars were less useful. To navigate the Marshall Islands, the Marshallese represented ocean swell patterns using parts of coconut fronds and shells as islands. Like a subway map, they don’t so much represent distances as they do relationships. The complex and decorative stick charts were often only understood by the person who made them. They were memorised before a voyage by the pilot who would lie on the floor of a canoe to get a sense of swell movement and often lead a squadron of 15 or more boats.
