Last Wednesday the Amazigh [a-mah-zeer] people celebrated Yennayer (the 1st of the month of the moon), which was the day of New Year 2972 in the Agrarian calendar, used by the Amazigh since ancient time.

The Amazigh are the native people from North Africa. They exist in the Maghrebian region and some Sub Saharan countries.

I am in fact from an ethnic group called the « Chleuh » from south west Morocco.
