I hate the way antis write sexual abuse. Just melodramatic and miserable, with no nuance. The only emotion the character is allowed to feel is misery and shame. And they have to constantly want to hurt themselves because they’re “dirty”.

Yeah, sexual abuse is obviously really fucking bad, and some people do react that way. Which isn’t their fault and doesn’t make them a “bad” victim either. There’s nothing wrong with that. But, the rules antis have for portraying sexual abuse always feels like it reinforces the idea that victims have to react the “right” way to be valid. Like you have to be miserable if you’ve been sexually abused and you need to hate sex and never heal.

Coming from someone who HAS experienced sexual abuse, it feels like they’re really against healing from that pain. To be clear, it’s okay if you struggle to heal, you don’t have to be PRESSURED to heal if it feels like you can’t do it. Because that can also just make it more stressful and painful. But you also don’t have to be miserable and hate your body forever to be “valid”.

I hate the idea of a world where you can’t draw or write certain things without being treated like you deserve to die.

Even if it’s “romanticized”, “fetishized”, whatever. I think you should just be able to make whatever you want as long as it’s fiction, and if it’s not obvious that bad things are bad, literally just put a disclaimer.

It’s making me really sad to see the spread of antis, tbh, especially since I bet a huge portion of them are actually interested in some dark fiction themselves, but won’t admit it. It’s just really depressing and idk what to do, since we’re all treated like sex offenders, even the ones who don’t even create dark fiction.

Without education, even if you were able to successfully censor everything you personally think is “bad”, an abuser will most likely directly tell the child that abuse is okay, and if they’re as impressionable as you say, they’ll listen, and they’ll be hurt anyway.
