Hearing that would be like hearing my partner say, “I only love some parts of you.” 

It sounds like, “I only love the part of you that learned to behave normally and carry on with life, but not the traumatized parts. I don’t love those parts.” 

I just couldn’t. I could not be with someone who regarded us in this way. 

The issue I ran into with the previous host having a serious relationship was that their partner got very awkward and distant whenever we announced a different alter was out, so why would we announce ourselves? It was easier to pretend we were the host like we did with everyone else, but it eventually became one of the reasons that relationship ended.
