i’ve just discovered a little mod that has changed my (sims) life probably forever! it expands both the CAS menus and the in-game menus to save you the pain of clicking a million times. the CAS one is compatible with the widescreen CAS camera fix, and they’re all super easy to install (just drop into the downloads folder)!

Just a bunch of new sliders! I included a brief description of each one so you can choose what to keep and what to delete. They are shown in order in the preview.

Personal sliders

Face depth. Ideal to create sims with flatter faces.

Outer Eye Corner Position. Moves the outer corner of the eye horizontally. May cause deformation of the eye texture.

Inner Eye Corner Position. Moves the inner corner of the eye horizontally. May cause deformation of the eye texture.

Pupil Height. Moves the middle of the eye up and down. I made this one to fix those eyesets with off-centered pupils. Not perfect, but does the job!

Septum Height. Moves the vertex that connects the nose with the face up and down.

Septum Depth. Moves the vertex that connects the nose with the face in and out.

Septum Height V2. Moves the vertex between the nosetip and the face up and down.

Requested sliders

Nosetip Pinch. Makes the nosetip sharper or rounder.

Nosetip Height. Moves the nosetip up and down.

Greek nose. Gives your sims a straight nose with a prominent glabella. The end result will vary depending of which face template you apply the slider to.

Chin Width. Changes the width of the chin without making it rounder.

Ears Height. Moves the ears up and down.

Upper Lip Size. Changes the size of the upper lip by moving its vertices up and down instead of resizing them.

Upper Lip Asymmetry. Makes one side of the upper lip bigger than the other.

Teeth Remover. Teeth are overrated anyway!! 😤😤😤

Lower Lip Size. Changes the size of the lower lip by moving its vertices up and down instead of resizing them.

Lower Lip Asymmetry. Makes one side of the lower lip bigger than the other.

Lower Lip Shape. Gives the lower lip the appearance of an inverted upper lip (it’s hard to explain lol). The end result will vary depending of which face template you apply the slider to.

Here are two sliders that have been very useful lately:

Eyelash Remover Slider. This is the updated version of my No Eyelashes Slider. They use the same package, so you can’t have both in your game. This one moves and resizes the whole eyelash mesh instead of just pushing back the first row of vertices. Same goal, but the new one doesn’t seem to cause glitchy eyelashes.

Teeth Height Slider. Sometimes when you heavily edit your sims faces their mouth and teeth become misaligned. This slider moves the denture up and down so you can relocate it in its right position.

Yeah, the thumbnails aren’t the usual ones. That’s because doing them this way it’s easier for me and tbh these sliders were mostly for personal use, but I just can’t help sharing everything I make lol. Please let me know if you run into any problem with them, especially the teeth one. For some reason it made BS crash at first but then it worked just fine??

The spiral should always be built to move in the direction of water drainage in whatever hemisphere it’s located in — for example, in the Northern hemisphere, water runs off in a clockwise direction and the opposite is true for the Southern hemisphere. This allows for optimal positioning of the pond at the bottom and reduces evaporation. The spiral can be built as a round or oval shape to take advantage of the movement of summer sunlight.

I get a lot of questions about the ultimate collection, and like most I got the UC during the promotion where it was given away for free a coupe of years ago. But, EA has announced they will no longer be giving out the UC. They haven’t supported it in years, or even sold it. So it is officially abandonware, and has found it’s home on oldgamesdownload.com, a trusted website that only uploads abandonware, primarily classic and older games. So no, you do not have to worry about piracy. 

I will not be answering questions, or help with installing, or ‘fixing’ the game to work with win10. Because they have a very handy and straight forward youtube tutorial on how to install the UC, and the internet has a million links (like this one) on how to remedy the graphical issues that win10 users experience.

Face template replacements. Because EA’s are urgh. You can download some here or make your own 

Clean/empty hoods. Depending on your cup of tea, you can clean up the existing EA neighborhoods or replace them with empty versions & you can create a clean custom neighborhood with your own townies instead of the maxis defaults. You can find more info, instructions & replacements here, here and here

Sims default database. Since some of maxis cas items & objects are pretty icky, you can replace them with cc. There is a database for CAS and for objects

ACR (Autonomous Casual Romance). Because who doesn’t need their sims kissing, or trying for a baby all on their own. You can also randomize the gender preference of a single sim or even the entire neighborhood.

Userstartup.cheat. Cheat that allows you to enable some cheats upon starting the game & allows cheats to be shortened (for example snapn instead of boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false)

Neighborhood deco. So you can get your hood to look like this You can find a list here

Anon asked for more hairlines, and I deliver! :)  Here are @ilikefishfood‘s straight hairline and Almighty Hat’s edits of Lilith’s hairline in the rest of the colors that I use.

ILFF’s hairline is binned as blush but Hat’s are binned as full face makeup. Sorry they are all in mixed-up order, I don’t know how to change that other than editing the sortindex values in each file and that would literally take forever. Made to match my Birthday Suit skins, but wide range of colors & good blending should work well on most (if not all) human-toned skins.

I do! I’m not good at it at all and I’ll probably die before I start ever being good at drawing directly.

Anyway, there’s really no way to completely prevent the lines and seams since it’s essentially like trying to glue a paper directly on your three-dimensional face and expecting it to fit and mold perfectly and not rip. :(

However, if you want some tips on how to deal with them and how to get not better but different results.

So it’s a combination of a couple of things:

1. Having a good base to fade them out with the opacity setting, a mask layer or just erasing.

This works a) while in 3d mode. Don’t be afraid to blend beforehand!

This is how it looks before I merge on Rami. See the masking layer? I couldn’t get his nose right to save my life so that was my focus

I try to make sure the base is a similar color as the skin, and that can be adjusted at any point with clipping mask adjustments (I use them religiously as you can see below lol)

Right here is the base layer I’m using which is Goly’s Zac skin with some custom lips I slapped on

2. Using the healing brush or clone stamp tool to erase seam lines

The process isn’t completely perfect but for Dan’s skin it worked out pretty well since I use the heads ripped from my game so I can better suit the sim I’m making a skin for. That in itself is a process and results may vary. And definitely not a guarantee that it’ll come out well. 

Erhm, back to my point: so it didn’t give me a lot of trouble like OTHERS *cough*everyoneelse*cough* on the nose area but we got the normal lines after merging… 

BTW, I also copy and paste the result from the merging onto my actual skin project so I can edit/blend back on to my base as necessary.

I still had harsh lines even after reducing opacity and masking

But here I masked and faded some things (yeah, unfortunately, a lot of the facial hair)

Here’s with some crappy spot healing brush tool use. it ain’t cute but it gets the job done 

You honestly just have to get a little creative with things to make sure it looks passable in-game at least. The nose depending on your sculpt may honestly not even look great. It’s really evident especially if you rip the head how much your sims depend on sliders bc the textures look awful

i mean look at rami’s nose!!! LMAOOOOOO. still not cleaned up and probably never will be. a skin is a delicate ecosystem truly

3. Play with the angles and the photo you merge down with. ofc it kinda goes without saying that if you have more detail on the side of the face you can just move the head and merge it down where you have the corresponding photo or texture.  (I used different lighting so you can see better)

as shown up in #1, I have the head at an angle because my reference photo is at an angle. I also played with the proportions with the free transform function so make sure i compensated for the angle. It’s weird but hey it’s more detail then i’d have without it!

Then copy the merged down result and copy it on to your actual skin psd and delete everything else that isn’t necessary. it can help frankensteining and blending the detail you need without that stretching and seams where you can’t work with them.

4. OMG i forgot to add: 3d mode might not give you a workable or pretty texture but it CAN give you an excellent reference on where things go. So if you wanna merge down and then use that to liquify and move the original image around for higher quality on your psd, it might work! I’ve tried it tons of times, it’s not foolproof but does help in making a blendable base at the very least!

It’s helpful when you’re using textures from other games and whatnot as a base
