Hi, I'm Pharos and a little about me OOCly~ Non-binary (any pronouns), gray-pan goth with a love for chill times, vampires, RPGs, and horror games.
This is a FFXIV character blog centered mostly on Hemlocke. Every so often, I post about the alts below tied into his story. I do gpose, gpose/story snippets and writing when I have the time and energy to do so. Former Ishgardian noble whoâs come to Eorzea searching for a specific black mage cult. A workaholic - Hemlocke is usually busy working as an attendant to the Arrzaneth Ossuary, with the adventuring company Priarch Enterprises or bartending. Confident and reckless, youâll rarely find him without a smirk on his face no matter what situation he's facing. A mysterious elezen who's easy to talk with but difficult to truly know. Unfortunately, his supernatural constitution affects his ability to wield magic effectively, and he's one of the worst cooks you'll ever meet. He has a pet bat named Bruce.
A renowned doctor born of the DeâFleur family of Sharlayan - quiet, enigmatic and calculating. Like his father, he excels in medical practice and alchemy. A run in with the Garlean empire and surviving Black Rose changes the course of his life forever. He awakes with an odd mark over his eye, silver hair and lips stained with a purple hue proving remnants of the poison lingers, unbalancing his aether. Will he ever find a way to cure himself completely?

A WoL and a skilled hunter of the Dotharl clan from the Azim Steppe. His stoic demeanor hides a softer interior, unable to ignore a cry for help. He's honest, straightforward and generally warms up to others quickly. After a tragic incident involving a friend of the Mol clan and in disagreements about war, Seiro leaves his homeland to become an adventurer. The lust for battle often consumes all sense from him, and he finds the thrill of the fight in hunting monsters.

He was originally a scholar who studied somanoutics and biomechanics until being involved in an unfortunate accident. Afterwards, he turned his interests to developing advanced armaments for the Diavolo company. Heâs a smug but well-meaning himbo who tends to go with the flow - no matter how bad things may get.

A Dhampir priest in training from Ishgard. Trained from his youth at the orphanage, Amaranth primarily fights against the packs of the feral undead. He seems cold, vicious and detached, but he truly doesn't want to harm anyone unless he has to. One of his strengths is the strong connection to spirits and ability to see/talk to them. As a dhampir, he naturally struggles with less than priestly thoughts and hopes fervent prayer to the fury will overcome this.

I updated my Industrial Suite for Tsukiyomi for Dawntrail! I kept the bottom of the build the same, with the lobby and the elevator except I updated the mail slots in the lobby to an all-in-one furnishing object instead of 20 Bachelor Chests lol
What you'll notice this time is I kinda went all out with a New York City brownstone facade! There's even side stairs for a fire escape! I'm actually quite proud of this one, and I really had to consider whether to keep the rain fall or not, but I ultimately decided that the rain would add a lot when you visit ingame and you can see the moving bits, and it's about vibes, innit.
I like this new loft I figured out, using the Everkeep Kitchen. Granted, it's a corner furniture so you have to make an L shaped loft, but I think it looks great. Good luck trying to hide the faucet on top, tho lol
That's why I used wooden showcases above!
I also tried to make the illusion of a glass sliding door with curtain inset, so hopefully that comes across in the build.

Out of pure curiosity, and since I know we have quite a few anxious folks here, I wanted to see if something was worth hosting;
I know that raids can seem like a lot of pressure, trust me. I've put quite a few off since they're not required content, unless I could run them solo. But the stories they tell are fantastic, and add so much context sometimes, or just have really lovely side stories to tell.
So, if I were to help organize a bi-weekly, no stress or judgement, just vibes raid night for sprouts and anxious folks, where we took on normal raids section by section, or a full AR

i know itâs been said before, but it bears repeating: a big, big part of maintaining your confidence & self esteem as a creator is fully embracing the concept of âyou donât have to be good like them. you can be good like you.â
for example, iâm not someone whoâs particularly good at coming up with complex, elaborate plots or incredibly unique ideas. itâs just not how i choose to write. and it would be easy for me to look at someone with an elaborate, super unique plot & decide that because i donât write like that, iâm not a good writer. after all, unique plots are good, and my writing lacks those, so my writing must not be good, right? well, no, actually. i just have different strengths, like taking a simple premise & digging super deep into its emotional depths. thatâs what i do well & it isnât any better or worse than people who do elaborate world building or come up with really creative and unexpected plots.
your writing is never going to be all things to all people. it just isnât. inevitably, youâll have to make creative choices that favor certain aspects of writing over others. there is truly no getting around that & itâs honestly a good thing, because it means youâve developed your own style. but youâll always encounter other creators who posses strengths that you donât. it doesnât mean one is better than the other or that your writing isnât good enough.Â
comparing yourself like that would be like taking a piece of pizza & a cupcake & going âoh no, that cupcake is so sweet & my pizza isnât sweet at all.â or âgosh, the garlic crust on that pizza is delicious and my cupcake doesnât have ANY garlic.â obviously your pizza isnât sweet. obviously your cupcake doesnât have garlic. a food canât have every single delicious flavor at once. the cupcake is good like a cupcake. the pizza is good like a pizza. so you donât have to be good like them. you can be good like you.
This also means that sometimes you will get writing advice on how to improve your cupcakes and sometimes you will get writing advice on how to add garlic to your cupcakes because the reader doesnât get that youâre not making a pizza
The best advice comes from people who generally like what youâre going for
"If you insist on joining me, come sit on my shoulder. It is safer."
