living with this disease is literally just. wake up. start pushing tube meds. try not to throw up from tube meds. spend 6 hours pushing tube meds because if you go any faster your heart will race and the world will spin and your intestines will spaz and you’ll start to heave from the water that should be in your intestines that’s now sitting at your throat. finish meds at 3pm and start to prep iv zofran to help your body recover. because you can’t even take your own meds without something else to mitigate the consequences of ingestion. spend 20 minutes flushing and wiping and drawing up from vials and wiping and pushing and wiping again and hep locking and throwing away medical waste. you realize your trash is overflowing again. your mom emptied it yesterday. it’s 3:30. you haven’t made your bed. you wanted to go out but now it’s too late, so you sit at your computer and accept defeat because you know you were never actually going to go outside, you’re too sick. but you needed a reason to get out of bed so you told yourself maybe today you’d go to a cafe. it’s 4pm. you take pictures of your sims while connected to iv fluids and cosplay living a real life while you watch your pretend families in pretend houses. you fantasize about being in their shoes. and you stay there until you go to bed — falling asleep to the same lie you told yourself the night before. maybe tomorrow you’ll get out.
